If you want stunning surroundings and great comfort, go to El Establo. Our stay was enhanced by the friendly staff, clean rooms and great food. Its proximity to The Monteverde Reserve was a plus. We loved the way the room buildings are spaced up the mountain, it reminded us of an Alpine Village, only covered with lush green vegetation instead... more

There are so many fun choices in this area, but I chose this because it has a pool I thought the kids would enjoy. It was much to cold to go in! Other than that the hotel was OK...the rooms are huge, and they have glorious views. Some of the gentlemen assigned to stand in the parking lot by the... more

This is a great place to stay for a few nights if you want to experience this part of Costa Rica. The hotel is on a mountain and consists of several blocks dotted around this mountain, each with 5 or 6 rooms. The rooms are spacious and clean, but not overly luxurious. Ours had a kind of open plan bathroom... more

This hotel has everything. The rooms are large and luxurious. The views are breathtaking. The bathrooms are large. The beds are comfortable. There is tv with many channels. There is a pool and tenis courts. The only thing bad about this hotel at all is the great distance between the restaurant and the lobby from the buildings with the rooms.... more

I never write reviews, however I wanted to write reviews for our trip to Costa Rica since we had both amazing hotels and scary hotels...this one was amazing if you like beauty, peace and quiet! We drove up above the pond and saw the most gorgeous sunset! It is a stunning property. Michael at the front desk was VERY nice... more

Had it wrong from the moment we were dropped off. had our room wrong, the new room they put us in had blood on the bathroom wall, sink, and sliding door, and no door on the toilet, and still was the wrong room. when we told them about the blood the girl shrugged her shoulders at us! Staff seemed preoccupied... more

We stayed here in late March 09 and had a very good experience. The hotel was not busy at all; this may have been a factor in our postive experience. Room was very big and clean, with a fairly luxurious bathroom. The desk staff was helpful, and the location is beautiful. The food was nothing special but there are plenty... more

El Establo is a beautiful hotel. The staff is wonderful and is willing to help you out. The man at the tour desk, Ello, had all the names memorized of most people staying at the hotel and could give you any information you need about any tour. The complex is HUGE. We were toward the bottom, but if you spend... more

We went there included as a part of a tour in Costa Rica. We came from Los Lagos, Arenal, after a trip crossing the Arenal lake and for a 35 miles (2h) in a incredible road, not paved, wich was a adventure for our back! The hotel is located in the hills in Monteverde region, our room was excelent, top... more
