Manakin Lodge is a simple but beautiful hostel. We payed almost nothing for a beautiful room with a private bathroom, television, balcony with forest view and more beds than we needed. Breakfast was included and came in two versions: a continental breakfast and a Costa Rican breakfast. Either way it was delicious. Staff was very helpful and provided us with... More

Stayed here for 2 nights after having the place recommended to us by some travelers we had met in another town. The rooms are nice simple rooms with bathroom and small balcony. Breakfast is nice and there is coffee always provided all day if you wish. The staff really make this place and can answer all of your questions about... More

This place was charming. For the price, I was impressed by the private bathroom and delicious breakfast. I liked the location because it was slightly further from town, but you can still walk there from the bus stop (15 minutes or so). It is also nice that parking is available in case you drive. The staff was extremely friendly and... More

The personnel makes the place, otherwise i'd have rated it 3 stars. Price goes accordingly. Spacious room, hot shower and clean. But simple. The basic stuff. Simple breakfast served with a smile even before the opening hour because we had to get to an attraction early. Again, thumbs up for the personnel. You can count on them. One little problem... More

We did the drive to the lodge after dark, and in some cases, didn't realize the sheer drop offs on the edge of the non- guard railed road. We had 4 wheel drive, but didn't use it for this stretch, however, it is unpaved for a bit of the way, but no huge rocks. I am glad we got the... More

My wife and I had a great experience with Edgar and Christian. They are brothers who own this place. Gave us great advice on free tours and discounts. Also had a great free breakfast.. If you can get a room in the back they are all glass and look out into the trees. Monkeys and other wildlife will knock on... More

This was not the best kept hotel we stayed at on our trip, but it was cute and had character. The family that runs the front was very nice and very helpful for answering questions and booking tours. The little patio off our room was amazing and backed right up into the trees, and although we did not see any... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Manakin Lodge during our honeymoon. We reserved the honeymoon suite and it was very spacious with a fantastic balcony where we were able to feed the Capuchin monkeys at the beginning of our stay. The breakfast was fantastic and the employees very helpful in giving us tips and arranging travel for us. The only... More

We stayed there for 3 nights; price was right, the food (breakfast included) was great. The room was very clean and the manager was a SUPER nice guy. We had a lot of fun. We were traveling with a 5 months old baby and a 3 years old and the family room was just perfect!
