This is the very first time I am writing a review, but this B&B deserves it. The Vargas family, who own the place is EXTREMELY nice and service is excellent. The rooms are clean. We were two couples traveling together and we stayed for 2 nghts in the 2-bedroom apartment whch is on the property. It has a nice wrap-around... more

This place is excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Monte Verde. The proximity to the reserve is excellent. Estaban and his mother and wonderful hosts. They're very helpful in booking tours too (I recommend the night hike in Monte Verde). They have parking, breakfast, and free internet. The rooms were nice and cozy. They had a... more

The Mariposa was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Esteban was lovely and incredibly accommodating. Great breakfast, cozy rooms (except for the occasional wolf spider, but that comes with the territory), and a beautiful, quiet location outside of town. I looked out the window one day and saw an agouti wandering around right outside. Highly recommended. The only thing I'd say... more

Clean, spacious rooms. Great Breakfast and a very nice host named Esteban. We stayed in a large 2 room suite with huge picture windows that allowed us to wake up to an amazing view. more

If I could give Mariposa more stars for service I would. Our hosts literally couldn't have done more for us from booking excursions to organising transport and making fabulous breakfasts. The accomodation was clean and very peaceful with much classier rooms than the reasonable price would have suggested. My favourite thing was watchingthe humming birds from the bench outside my... more

My wife and I stayed at the Mariposa B&B for two nights. The place is lovely and the family goes to great lengths to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Esteban even helped us find a mechanic & negotiate with our rental car company to get the repair paid for after our muffler fell apart! The toast is homemade bread... more

I really hope that everyone chooses this place when trying to decide upon Monteverde accomodations. This is a family owned bed and breakfast. The older son, Esteban, was more than helpful every step of the way. He helped us book tours and transportation prior to our stay. His mother makes THE BEST breakfast in the morning, which consists of fruit,... more

It was hard leaving the Mariposa ! The cabin we shared as a group of 4 exceeded our expectations with two bedrooms with baths, a lovely kitchen/dining area, a porch and even a washing machine. All this was located in a gorgeous Monteverde setting! Mariposa is located very close to the Monteverde preserve (indeed, about as close as you can... more

The Mariposa B&B is located on a really beautiful property very near the Cloud Forest Reserve. While you occasionally get a little noise (read: two-stroke motorcycle engines) from the street, it is generally a very peaceful and serene place to stay. We loved it! The room where we stayed was in a 4 (or 5?) room two-story structure set against... more

My cousin and I (2 girls) stayed at Mariposa Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The B&B is owned and operated by the very nice Vargas family. Esteban is the main guy but the entire family is involved as well. The family is extremely sweet and they speak English very well. The rooms are very... more
