I, My father and my brother have stayed here on numerous occasions. All I can say is that it is a great little B&B, with a great owner, who provides stories and knowledge of Colditz. I cannot understand these people who expect 5* hotels in this town, as it doesn't exist. You are here to experience this beautiful part of... More

Fab for one night, breakfast isn't too great but we didn't expect it to be. The staff were lovely on reception, although the local restaurant they recommended was not good, to be fair it was awful! Lovely grounds but hard to get into the building after 22:00 due to main entrances being locked and having to walk round the back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have no complaints. Ralf is certainly welcoming and very helpful, and speaks good English. As most have already stated, the breakfast is really good. Cereals, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, a boiled egg, spreads, cheeses and meats. It's all there. We would definately go back.

Had a night here recently, having driven up from Prague in a hire car for a couple of days. Ralf the host is very kind and knowledgeable about Colditz, but the room itself left a lot to be desired. The decor was shabby and tired and the ensuite bathroom was a walking advert for Lidl - the bathroom toiletries consisted... More

There’s not much choice in Colditz, but the Stadmauer is a pretty good option. Ralf, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The single room was small, but clean and warm. The only issue I had with the place was that the shower either ran boiling hot, or frozen, with seemingly no middle ground. Breakfast was embarrassingly generous as I... More

You come here with the sole purpose of visiting the magnificent Colditz Castle. Assuming this to be so, this B&B is brilliantly located with free adjacent parking. The buffet breakfast was good and Ralf was welcoming and knowledgeable. The room was fine for the price. Don't forget that it is cash only!

Housekeeping standards are evidently not a high priority at this rustic little pension. The carpets need a good clean and the beds, while comfortable, lack mattress protectors. There is a general air of staleness to the place. Our bathroom was tiny, but adequately clean. The owner/host, Ralf, is a pleasant and friendly fellow, eager to help with your bags and... More

On arrival we were met and were helped to carry our luggage from the car to our room. This is not a modern hotel - presumably 'stranded on the beach' was expecting something more modern - but his or her description of a 'horrible, dirty, squalid little B&B' could not have been further from the truth. We had no concerns... More

This really is a horrible, dirty, squalid little B&B. No frills. Whoever wrote the reviews praising the breakfasts can not have spent much time travelling in Europe, the breakfast is pretty standard European fare, rolls, cheese, ham a boiled egg, cereal, all served in one of 2 dingey little breakfast rooms. The bedrooms are so small you have to step... More
