We stayed in one bedroom apartment on ground floor. The room is as new and comfortable. The location is so convenient that it takes 15 - 20 mins to get to city via tram route 19 and walking distance to Barkley shopping centre. The manager is also very nice who tried best to make your stay so enjoyable. We would... More

The people who run the place couldn't be nicer but the beds are way past their prime - very saggy and the curtains don't close properly so the streetlight shone brightly into the room all night. The ancient airconditioner was quite noisy so if you can afford it, I would spend a little more for a much better nights sleep.

Poorly maintained property - Corridor carpet dirty, no working smoke alarm in apartment, bedside lamp didn't work, kettle shorted electrics and tripped all power, hence no cup of tea! Reception staff were helpful, however the $20 refund we received on checkout when we expressed our disappointment, did not compensate for a still overpriced tariff.

Visited for one night only, we are from a country area and wanted to see our grownup children who live in melbourne and prepare a nice tea for them in the apartment. When we booked in the person on reception told us that their cleaner was sick and they had to clean the rooms themselves that day....I never thought much... More

Hi Jackie, thank you for your review. Our normal check in time is 2pm, and check out time is 10am. If there are early check in requests, we do our best to accommodate that. However, if guests check out later than 10am, then we are not allowed enough time to clean the room. We apologise for not making your room... More

The apartments are in a great location with easy access for the tram to the city, the many restaurants of Sydney Road and Lygon Street, all major supermarkets and Princes Park for a lovely walk. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the kitchen is well equipped if you need to cook basic food. We only used it to make... More

Overall experience is positive. Reception staff are very helpful and pleasant. Room we had was roomy, clean but maybe a little tired. Bed was great. Kitchen is well equipped but not used by us, so not sure of utility. Plenty of storage space. Unfortunately, we were disturbed several times in the wee hours by other occupants coming and going. Not... More

The room was clean, except the dead big behind the door of the bathroom, which was not removed even after 2 days. Milk and cookies were not replenished until I asked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is within 5 minutes walk of 2 tram lines. If you don't know what a Miki card for the tram is,... More

Parkville, Manager at Econo Lodge Parkville Place, responded to this review

Thanks for the review. In response to your comments - the rooms get serviced daily, that is beds made, towels changed, rubbish removed, toilet paper, tea, coffees etc replenished. If there was a dead fly hidden behind the door then yes it could quite easily be missed until the full weekly clean is done so apologies for that, if you... More
