A Masseria is an old Italian fortified farm or country house built to resist invading peoples so its ironic that they are now mainly used to encourage an invasion of other peoples and this place is a great example of this modern form of holiday retreat. Torre Fiore is owned by a lovely Italian Canadian lady by the name of... More

My husband and I stayed here at the end of September for just one night during a tour of southern Italy to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The only downside being that we could hear the loo flushing and a chap coughing next door so soundproofing not great. The hotel is... More

This lovely hotel, a renovated collection of whitewashed farm buildings arranged around a central courtyard, was the perfect introduction to the region of Basilicata. Our suite was large and comfortable, with a perfect combination of old (two fireplaces, a collection of vintage ceramics) and new (a very contemporary bathroom). The small restaurant is very pretty, with a beautiful breakfast buffet... More

We haven't felt this relaxed in a long time. After a long day of biking and sightseeing, I really enjoyed the long showers in our beautifully appointed bathroom. The hotel grounds and rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. Lounging under the Italian sun by the infinity pool was a real treat. The hotel staff and management were so warm and... More

We loved the hotel - really fabulous place that we used as a hub to see surrounding areas like Matera and the Sassi, Alberobello with the Trulli, Taranto, Ostuni, etc. Easy drive to all of them and then when you're done your day of touring you come back to this exquisite and relaxing haven. The views are breathtaking as you... More

A lovely hotel. Beautifully furnished. Everything has been thought of, even the tiniest details. Having travelled the world and stayed in 4/5 star hotels this features amongst one of my favourites and the best one in Italy. It does not have large numbers of guests although the space is large, it feels intimate. The food in the restaurant was very... More

A perfect place to relax, The location is away from the tourist traps in a traditional part of southern Italy with easy access to the coast or the surrounding places of interest i.e. Matera. The hotel is excellent with good rooms, good food, a pool and excellent facilities and very helpful staff.

This is a very good hotel - rooms are around a courtyard - so little noise between them and shielded by the walls from the external environment. an excllent pool and a very good and well priced restuarant with lovely views across the valley. The owner is a canadian and ever present with a very good quality staff. The hotel... More

This is a unique and special place - 13 luxurious rooms with all facilities and a splendid chef. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely location overlooking the plain and shore - eating outside was a delight - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reasonably sized pool with lots of facilities - with only 13 rooms, it was always pleasantly quiet. This is... More

We had a lovely family holiday at Torre Fiore. The place is beautiful and our room was very spacious and comfortable. Our children loved the swimming pool. It is small and intimate and as there are only 12 rooms the place will never feel overcrowded. The fellow guests were all nice, friendly people. As for the staff, especially the waiters... More
