I wanted to visit Taormina but the prices were prohibitive so I stayed, in the town of St Alessio, just north of Taormina. The hotel was on the sea front and within 100m was a bus stop, where I could catch the bus up the mountain to Taormina. A good hotel for a brief stop with courteous and helpful staff.... More

went here on school trips twice (2012 and 2014), came back the second time as I loved it so much! hotel is great, spacious balconies with lovely views, quiet location, private beach is not sandy but still very clean and perfect for sunbathing. few shops locally with everything you would need. would definitely recommend.

Great hotel for school groups, very friendly staff and the food was very good. It's in a 'safe' location with not too much traffic outside. Private beach area, although we didn't have much time to enjoy it - hope to go back again when not working!

Stayed here in September for 4 nights with 21 6th form students. It was perfect for our needs. Clean rooms and plenty of food. Staff friendly and a lovely setting across the road from the beach. Would definitely stay again for this type of trip.

I recently stayed here with a group of 13 and 14 year old geography students. It suited our needs very well. Great beach side location on a relatively quiet stretch. The rooms were basic, the only issue were the dodgy blinds that broke on a couple of occasions. The food was simple and hearty. The staff were very willing to... More

First impressions: When arriving at Hotel Solemar you are greeted by friendly staff in the outside dining area. The food is great, although pork and chips or chicken and potatoes isn't very Italian. If you're looking for an average hotel in the middle of a dilapidated ghost town, hotel Solemar is the place for you! Here's a list of some... More

We stayed here in June with high school students on our Classics tour of Italy and Greece. The location for the hotel, immediately opposite the sea, is very good; Sant'Alessio is close to Taormina and, although it is a rather average sea-side resort, it's still an attractive place to stay. Rooms are large and basic - most with balconies, although... More

Granted, Sant'Alessio Siculo is off the beaten track, but that is exactly what we wanted and we were not disappointed. The hotel grew in our appraisal with each passing day. The service was marvelous and the food in their evening restaurant was marvelous, well prepared and well spiced, as good as any other restaurant in the town (and better than... More

Decent transfer from the airport, about one hour. Once we got to the hotel we were greeted by friendly receptionist, and a clean room. Huge balcony was the highlight of the room, however it included a very basic and cramped bathroom, that only allowed one person at a time. The beds were hard, which luckily isn't a problem for me.... This was one of my favourite hotels to stay at during my stay in Italy with EF Tours. The hotel was very clean, the scenary was breathtaking, the staff was remarkable, the food was delicious, and the price was amazing for all that we got! I will miss Claudio and Nino - they have hearts of gold and they were... More
