Hotel Doellnsee Schorfheide was built in 1933 as a Forester's house (later a guest house) for Carinhall, the estate of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, the head of the World War II Luftwaffe and Hitler's designated successor, which stood on the other side of the Doellnsee.
