Recently had need to spend a few nights in Windorah as I was working in the area. They have hotel rooms and motel type rooms at the rear of the Hotel. I stayed in the motel type rooms. They were clean, very comfortable and had all your basic requirements. The Hotel owner Ian could not do enough to help you,... More

We stayed in the motel section up the back and it was clean and comfortable with undercover parking which would be appreciated in the summer I'm sure. Free wifi at the hotel. Good pub meal. Drove out to Coopers Creek short distance and very interesting.

Stayed in the Hotel section which used shared bathrooms. Everything was clean and room air conditioner silent. Negative was mattresses ( three single beds in room .. room no. one I think) which were totally stuffed. Sad that the most important part of accommodation is neglected..... a lesson for the owners to test what they are selling. Restaurant attached to... More

We stayed at the Western Star for 5 nights, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ian, Marilyn and their staff were excellent hosts and went out of their way to assist us. We also met a lot of the local people at the pub each night. The food was very good. Highly recommended to stay at least... More

Stayed for 1 night and enjoyed 2 really good meals and a warm bed. People are friendly and the beer is cold. Make sure you take the time to have a look at the Cooper Creek. I have been to many parts of the Cooper and this is as goodas any.

A stop over in Windorah will give you a great feel for the outback Queensland. Ian, Marilyn & staff are all very friendly, like to share some tales and the drinks and food are great. I did not stay in the accommodation but have been told it is very good too. Windorah is a special town and definitely worth the... More

I chose the Hotel room for $70 because of the lower price, which had a bed, TV and welcome Air conditioner. I requested a small salad and found it delicious. Breakfast was at the restaurant the next morning...and my plane left in the afternoon giving me time to visit the Museum, and walk around the small town. The Hotel owner,... More

We had a lovely day at the Western Star, well looked after by Ian and Marilyn. They made us feel very welcome, room was lovely and clean and the meals tasted great. Make sure you call in and stay the night you will not regret it. 5 Star. Thank you Ian, Marilyn, Amanda and Jess.

This place is great the owners are really accommodating and there staff are friendly. I've stayed a lot in the last twelve months for work. On the night of the yabbie races last year there was no accom in town so Marilyn let us put up our swags in the backyard. Beautiful sunsets from the front of the hotel and... More

Friendly staff, and warm and clean room for our brief overnight stay on route from Birdsville to Charleville. The kitchenette facility was great and the kids enjoyed running around outside in the sun.
