It’s rare to walk into a hotel/B&B room and find the room more impressive than the photos but that’s what we found at the Stables lodge. We stayed in the red room and it was lovely. Janet obviously puts a lot of hard work and thought into every detail of her guests stay. Our room was beautifully made up with... more

We travelled to Tyne & Wear for a wedding in South Shields (reception at Beamish Hall) and were so glad to have found The Stables Lodge on the internet for our two nights stay (in the Red Room). I can't wax lyrical enough about the service that Janet and Gary provided and indeed the beautiful amenities afforded by The Stables... more

Lovely place, lovely couple, their customer service was above and beyond anything experienced elsewhere, they made sandwiches for my daughter and her partner who had travelled to Newcastle on the train that morning to go with us to a family wedding and then acted as Chaufeur taking us to the church and back so we didn't have to park miles... more

As the managers of a succesful Luxury Guesthouse in Cornwall we knew exactly what we required when searching for accomodation in this area. We were not dissappointed. The Stables Lodge is a superb establishment in every way. Janet, the hostess, is warm, friendly and attended to our every request with patience and care. Firstly, the whole place was stunningly appointed... more

This is easly one the best places we have ever stayed. We stayed in the red room which was amazing, as good as the pictures promise. Janet was wonderful host, the breakfast's were incredible, and nothing was too much of problem for her, she even managed to book us a table at the exclusive six restaurant in the baltic centre... more

This was the second time we stayed at the the stables and once again Janet, the owner was an excellent host. We booked all three rooms for a wedding and had a wonderful stay. tThe rooms are lovely, all special in their own way. The location is superb for Newcastle and the countryside around. It comes highly recommended and would... more

We stayed at the Stables Lodge for 3 nights with my Mother and Father in law to celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Janet and Gary were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay again. more

the service is first class, the owners are first class, the breakfast was first class. the building itself is a converted farm building, the conversion having been carried out to a very high standard. 3 rooms are available, we stayed in the red room, the largest of the 3 having its own sauna and whirlpool bath. Janet allowed us to... more

If you want an incredible experience at a great B&B visit Janet & Gary at The Stables Lodge. Put a 'ditto' on everything that's already been said, and that's exactly how we felt. Simply put we can't wait to go back again. more

Easy access from the A1, an ideal location to stay if you are visiting children at University. We stayed in the Tartan Room, which was most comfortable with lots of interesting extra's! Janet is an ideal hostess, most informative and accommodating and even allowed our son to come and enjoy the scrumptuous breakfast with us... a Kings treat for a... more
