Arrived on Saturday evening following a family wedding. Greeted pleasantly enough and directed to our room. It would have been nice to be escorted, but it was easy to find. The room was basic, but had a huge bed, a couple of tub chairs and tea/coffee making facilities. We booked for dinner and opted for the surf and turf. It... More

We started for three nights. The room was a good size and was clean and comfortable. As mentioned in other reviews, the corridors are not good, but the hotel is being refurbished. The only downside of our room was the shower. It was a corner cubicle and was very small. The first time I used it I knocked the water... More

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights from Tuesday 8/07/2014 to Friday 11/07/2014 which I have to say I now regret. Poor check in,a mumbled request to complete the registration form, then the person disappeared and another member of staff arrived a few minutes later and asked who we were again and gave us our room keys. The Hotel is... More

We stayed here for one night. The corridors were dreadful. Carpet very dirty and stained, also a very odd smell on the landing. Our room 244 was OK, except it hadn't been dust and didn't look like it had been hovered. Also there were stains down the wall near to the tea/coffee/kettle. However the sheets looked really clean, as did... More

My wife booked this for 2 nights executive double priced at £95.per night, Not worth £20 per night. Arrived at about 8pm on Friday night no one on reception, good start we thought. As we went up stairs (no lifts) there is obviously refurbishment going on as lots of doors were out of bounds, however the room was one of... More

Thank you to the Owners of the Hotel for being helpful to us at our recent visit. Bedroom comfortable and clean. The Hotel is undergoing renovations but this did not interfere with our stay. Breakfast was superb. Hot and plenty of choice.

The location was perfect for what we needed and room was refurbished and comfortable. The shower was the best I had ever used in a hotel to date. The hotel was being refurbished but no attempt was made to hide the dirtiness in the hallways. I understand we had gone out of season but considering this refurbishment was taking place... More

We visited Norfolfk for the first time to attend a friends Birthday and stayed at the Royal for two nights. The first impressions on arriving at the Hotel were not good, the architecture is confused, they have mixed a Victorian Hotel with red brick extensions, there are masses of pink signs all over the place, the place looks shabby. On... More

Me and my brothers booked this hotel for one night. Rooms were excellent, service was fantastic and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We had a few drinks in the bar before we went out to dinner and found they had a fine selection of everything. After dinner we came back to the bar for 'just one more' and... More
