Fantastic hotel, fantastic location and fantastic staff! Stayed here for a week, originally started out in the little cottage but moved up to the hotel a couple of days in due to being bitten constantly whilst outside by the trees and was also quite a hike up to the hotel each day! Room was fantastic, clean and the view from... more

We were so glad we stayed here, high above the hustle & bustle of Taormina. Far more authentic and beautiful location with its own little village a 5 minute walk. We had a Superior room with views of Etna & the coast. Breathtaking!! Greeted with strawberries & fruit, we took a dip straight away in the pretty stunningly located pool,... more

We spent 3 nights in a large superior room and where greated with champagne and strawberrys in our room which was a nice touch. THe reception staff were very nice and The view from our balcony was amazing. However service was not great in the hotel, it was very difficult to order a drink in the bar or by the... more

I highly recommend the rooms with Etna view, because all the others look to the street, which can be noisy. The breakfast is not the strongest part of the hotel, but compared with the italian standard it was quite nice. Castelmola is a beautifull, quiet, small town, on top of the hill, with nice restaurants. The center of the town... more

I was initially impressed by the reviews and the location. But when I arrived vey tired I was verbally abused to leave the pool becuase it was closed 20 min ago ! The food was awful - the bread was at least two days old and the meal was extremely expensive, given it's quality. It was the worst I did... more

we loved this hotel. My husband reckons it's one of his favourite hotels ever! We're just back from Italy and we stayed here on our way home for just 2 nights. We were offered the garden cottage which is one of a few rooms secluded at the bottom of the hill under the hotel. It means you have to walk... more

We stayed in Villa Sonia for 8 nights from 17th July. The hotel was fantastic and exactly what we were looking for - the rooms were nice, the staff (Adriana was so helpful and everyones english was very very good) were pleasant, the pool was lovely (and empty) and was much needed on most days! The views from the pool,... more

Having heard good things about the Villa Sonia i was very excited to spend 7 nights here. However although the hotel is very nice, good size rooms, lovely pool area and friendly reception staff, we were not very impressed with the restaurant. the food was bland and the service spasmodic. the first 2 nights they constantly played Beyonce through all... more
