My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of April and enjoyed staying at this hotel. The staff was good and the view from our room over the valleys and onto Etna was great. Each little room came with a little balcony which we used to catch some sun in the afternoon. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good so... More

We visited Castelmola, a stones throw from Taormina Sicily in September 2013. This was our second stay at the Villa Sonia, having stayed 3 years ago. The Villa Sonia is a lovely, low stress hotel in a quiet town above Taormina. We chose this hotel because it is close to Taormina and the action, yet providing a retreat and avoiding... More

Situated at the end of a switchback road on the top of a mountain, this hotel makes a great stay for anyone. The views are amazing and you are, literally, at cloud level, sometimes above it. Brilliant views of Etna and the surrounding countryside. Our room had plenty of space, big bed, and a jacuzzi bath in the bedroom -... More

You must have a good head for heights for a stay here, from the drive up the hill to the situation of the hotel. Terrific views though , average rooms and very variable food quality ,ranging from the very good to the diabolical. The village has other good restaurants and a bar owned by the Hotel. Staff are very friendly... More

We are just back from a trip to Sicily we spent the first two nights in villa Sonia, we were getting married in Castelmola, just the two of us. I found the staff to be extremely helpful, as we booked only the night before we were not too happy with our room, manager upgraded us immediately. Nothing was a problem... More

We stayed here for 10 nights for our honeymoon at the end Sept/ start Oct. Located in Castlemola, it was quiet & away from the tourist bustle, but close enough (30min walk down some very steep steps or drive down a very windy road!) to Taormina. There is a local bus every 2 hrs, or the hotel has a shuttle... More

This hotel is located above Taormina - which, for us, was good because it was out of the hustle bustle, but easy to get to Taormina. The rooms are neat (although we did have an issue with our bathroom when we checked in - the prior occupant's trash was still in there and there wasn't any toilet paper). The views... More

The views from this hotel were excellent. Excellent facilities including pool and hot tub. Our room was very small but clean. The hotel provides a free shuttle into Taormina. We had dinner there one night which was good but very expensive for what we got. for example soup appetizer was 12 Euros. You would be better having dinner at nearby... More

we found a offer price for this hotel but in our haste booked the wrong date. We called the hotel and spoke to Adriana on reception, she was very helpful and changed the dates without a problem. To get there you have to drive up the side of a mountain with lots of turns with a shear drop on one... More

You start from the sea at Taormina and think you will never arrive at this Hotel! It is worth the drive. Incredible situation on a rocky hilltop with a medieval town just above the hotel - 5 minutes walk up steps. We arrived int he dark and opened our curtains to see Mount Etna directly across the valley - stunning!... More
