I booked a night at the Wurfeld Castle, as we went to the Drielandenpunt for a weekend (Aachen, Maastricht, and some places in Belgium). We ordered 2 3-person rooms. The personnel was very friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised when one of the rooms was upgraded to a 4-person room. Instantly we decided that the room would be occupied by... More

Spend 2 nights on business in Maaseik and stayed at the Wurfeld Castle, greeted by a warm welcome from the old front desk officer. Rooms were clean and tidy, wifi in the room worked good. Dinner at the restaurant was good with a lovely view on the garden, the Christmas decoration in the garden was really neat. Breakfast in the... More

Nice welcome for a start: the owner picked us up at the bus stop (we don't have a car). Extremely friendly and professional personnel. The site could be more attractive - the 'castle' is in the midst of a beautiful park. Ideal for walks (the red one, 7 1/2 km travels through the remains of an old morass) and for... More

We spend 2 days in Kasteel Wurfeld, with 4 couples. The suoerior rooms are nice, with some differences One room was well suited for older people (walk in shower, instead of bath). Two room had a balcony. The weather was nice , so we could really enjoy the large parc and the terraces. Service is friendly and efficient. The hotel... More

We stayed over there for 1 night in early December where everything was white with snow and full of lights for the Xmas decoration. My 2 kids (2 & 3 years old) got amased from the feeling that we stay in a castle. The reastaurants is magnificent and the service very warm. The food could be a little bit better... More

Whilst in Belgium last month (Saturday 21 July), my husband and I were taken to a wonderful restaurant for a 7-course gourmet dinner; The Kasteel Wurfeld. We walked into the large Castle through beautifully landscaped gardens, and over the surrounding moat. There were large lanterns outside, and spacious airy dining rooms, with huge windows overlooking the terraces. We dined from... More

I LIKED: nice and cosy with character, yet modern equipment - good rooms with lots of space - friendly for physically challenged people - charming garden - nice and friendly personnel - country feel at a stone's throw from the Dutch/German border I DIDNT LIKE: breakfast is a bit poor - business lunch is not in line with the level... We stayed a night with 3 kids, and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful location, excellent service and a great food. We thought they would benefit from turning part of their land into a park eventually..

We booked for 2 nights in this nice hotel and had very pleasant stay. We enjoyed the food in particular. Mainly local and seasonal ingredients prepared with a lot of skill and creativity. Situated a couple of miles away from the village in a park, it is an oasis of peace and tranquility. Very friendly staff.
