The roaring fire in the hall was very welcome and we were pleased with our room , which was very warm and had a large and comfortable bed .We had a gorgeous view through the stone Mullioned windows, over what was originally, the front of the house. The breakfast was perfect with an array of things to choose from. If... More

Phoned here at 9:30pm for a last minute stay that night as the hotel we originally booked wasn't in when we wanted to check in and ignored our phone calls! Anyway when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised, the place his so much character, it was very old and quirky and was perfect for a young couple who needed some... More

We have just returned from a 3 day break to Whitby , and stayed just outside yet within walking distance at a Hotel in the village of Ruswarp , great B & B and very apt for October with its History and atmosphere. Breakfast was very well cooked and would return again. The walk into Whitby from the footpath by... More

Stayed with a group of friends for a long weekend. A listed building with character. The present owners have not ben there long and are modenising where they are allowed. e.g. roof been insulated, new showers installed. Very thick, lined curtains at the windows which are not allowed to be replaced. Very clean throughout. Beds very comforatable. Staff very helpful.... More

We have just spent a long weekend at Ruswarp Hall and can highly recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to stay convenient for Whitby. The Hall has lovely old features and our room looked out over the garden. The room was on the top floor (we were asked if we were ok with stairs when we booked and... More

Friendly bnb, everything you need, no bells and whistles but clean and comfortable. Cute honesty bar too. Good value for money. Quirky house with friendly staff. Only a few minutes drive from Whitby. Highly recommend and will stay again if in the area.

Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was well above average, very nice. Rooms very comfortable as was the beds. To be honest was a little tired but that is only to be expected with a building this old. Pub at the end of the street made us very welcome. Went a walk along the railway to Whitby took about 20 mins. Went... More

This is an old Jacobean house and a group of us ladies took over almost all the hotel for a weekend. They onLy do bed and breakfast. The owners are very pleasant, the breakfasts were well cooked and tasty (lovely sausages!). The rooms were naturally old but I had a good en suite. Beautiful garden and there is a nice... More

My husband and I arrived here with two friends on 28th Sept to celebrate my birthday on the 29th. We were warmly greeted by the owner. Our rooms may not have been spotlessly clean, but were comfortable, warm and had amazing views of the garden, with the steam train to Whitby passing close by. Taxis to Whitby cost around £6.00...
