First time in Port Dover and wow were we surprised to walk down a very smelly hall way and into a huge room that was also smelly and old. The carpet was worn, we would not sit on the chairs cause they looked very used. I brought room fragrance which helped but we spent a lot of money at this... More

The Erie Beach Hotel is a blast from the past, mostly in a very good way. Rooms are basic motel, fairly recently painted, bathroom a fairly new update. It has to be said that the furniture, although very solid, is pretty hideous! Dining room furniture features 1950s very solid wood chairs. The dinner menu continues the theme, with dishes that... Gross Motel, Very limited, they call themself a hotel. Carpets havent been cleaned since the 1940's. You must walk through the dining area to get to your room. My friend and I bought fabreeze because we couldnt stand the smell everytime we came into our room. I would NOT recommend this overpriced place.

The restaurant portion of this establishment, specifically the "Cove Room" has been serving many of the same menu items for over thirty years. Having experienced different culinary establishments throughout North America, and Europe - I wouldn't change a thing at the Erie Beach. Did you ever notice that excellent dining establishments are generally managed by (a) good management, (b) good... More

What a pleasant surprise - a beachfront(almost) property for such a reasonable price - clean room & comfortable bed - A/C that works, very clean bathroom with tub. both onsite diningrooms were agreeable - all staff from front desk to dining room friendly & helpful - only drawback is this two floor hotel has no elevator. O.K. for young folk... More

Stayed overnight to get away and relax for the day. The rooms are a bit outdated but very clean and smelled fresh. Staff in the restaurant were disappointing. We ate there 2 times and both times service was slow and restaurant was not busy. They certainly did nothing out of thier way to be of service. Breakfast was very slow... More

Food was great, could have been hotter. We prebooked on a bus trip with choice of Pickeral or Chicken so taken aback when server came out and said we have ordered Perch for everyone. If you prefer we do have limited chicken available. So no Pickeral.... Was tasty however! Those hoe had originally ordered chicken did get chicken. Salads were... More

Stayed here in nov. Its a nice place .Not a chain but a beach hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Not a big selection of channels on tv., 2 restaurants with casual dinning upstairs and has good food.

If you like cookie cutter hotels where you could be anywhere in the western world this is not the place for you. If you like a place with a bit of character and staff that really care about your comfort I can highly recommend it. It is also only a few minutes walk from the beach, downtown and the lighthouse... The room was very smelly, mildewy and very musty. The carpets were stained and looked like they have never been cleaned other than vacuuming. The room and a double and single bed in it. There was no room. The TV stations kept cutting out and my kids were very upset. I would not recommond it to anyone. Place needs a... More
