The good: Secure garage parking for our 2 motorbikes. This has all the looks of a grand old house, and the general ambiance of the hotel is welcoming. The gentleman on reception was charming and spoke clearly so that I could understand his french with my limited ability of french - then in the morning when he saw us off... More

This town was really nice place! We only stayed for one night this hotel. It was wlking distance from the center of the town. Really good service even we didn't speak French and they didn't speak that good English, but that was not problem! I really liked the place and could stay here again. Room was really average, nothing special.... More

We stayed in this hotel one night on our road trip leg between Mote Carlo & Geneva. The hotel has seen grander times but it's nice clean & comfortable. It's a short walk into town that has plenty of shops bars & restaurant. We were there in August and there was live music in the square. The hotel was easy... More

Hotel is a little run down frm the outside, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Garage parking for motorbikes. 0.3 mile flat walk to pretty town centre. Don't be put off by the look. Very nice hotel and friendly host. Some rooms have a balcony.

We spent 4nights here on a cycling vacation. The cycling was epic and the hotel was excellent. The rooms altough not large were very clean and interesting and the beds very comfortable. The best thing about our stay was the accommodating owner. I would stay here on future trips. The secure bike storage was also very handy for our group

Unfortunately only stayed the one night - very comfortable room, bearing in mind this is a grand old dame of a house rather than a modern chain hotel. Madame could not have been more welcoming when I arrived without a reservation. Her English more than adequately made up for my schoolboy French ! WIfi worked OK in the room. Plenty... More

Our night at the La Grande Eperivere was very nice and the hotel is a great location for exploring the mid-evil town of Barcelonnette. The hotel rooms are in a beautiful old building with gorgeously decorated hallway ceilings and historic furnishings. Room themselves are simple yet a good value and the balcony has picturesque views of the Alps surrounding Barcelonnette.... More

This looks like a large hotel from the street, but it turns out that the upper 3 floors are apartments and ony the ground floor is a hotel, with about 10 rooms. The ones facing the street have balconies that overlook a large garden that, when we were there, was in a state of benign neglect. Our room was clean,... More

La Grande Eperivere, is grand! It is housed in a beautiful old building, very quiet with large, high ceilinged rooms. Very clean, very welcoming and a short walk to all the restaurants in old town Barcelonnette. Each room has a lovely balcony overlooking the pleasant grounds where there is seating under the trees for an afternoon drink . The breakfast... More

A one night stopover on a cycling trip. Completely agree with recent comments. Room was clean and perfectly adequate; the proprietors couldn't have been more helpful and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have sampled - everything wonderfully fresh. It was also good to have a safe place to store our eight bikes. Exceedingly pleasant little town... More
