After five nights in a basic but very livable ger camp associated with a festival, I could scarcely believe the luxury of Three Camel Lodge. Indoor plumbing, reliable electricity, excellent cuisine (with fresh vegetables and salads!), in a spectacular setting. We were fortunate that Camp owner Jalsa Urubshurow was present with personal guests, and organized a naadam just down the... More

This eco-lodge set against a small hill in the middle of nowhere was a perfect base to explore the Gobi Desert. The Flaming Cliffs (hiking and viewing dinosaur fossils), sand dunes (camel riding and climbing), and petroglyphs up to 5000 years old are among the many features of the area. The lodge has a few dozen permanent gets made of... More

What can I say? Flourless chocolate cake for dessert, fresh salads (in a country where they believe only goats eat greens), a lounge with a large, open fireplace, a library of DVDs, staff that comes to your ger to build a fire in your wood stove at 6pm and even 4am (upon request), an ensuite sink and toilet, L'Occitane toiletries,... So lets be honest, you are in one of the most remote places on the planet so its not like you have a heap of choice. That said you will be more than comfortable at the Three Camels lodge. The food was great and quite agreeable to the western palate if you struggle with local cuisine. Sitting smoking a cigar... More

This is an amazing property where you stay in Mongolian style "Ger" while enjoying the luxury of a boutique property. The food is outstanding, the service staff pays attention to every detail and very customer oriented. Our guide " Eggy" and the drivers were very friendly. It is a beautiful country with an amazing landscape and very friendly people.

I spent three nights in a ger in late June as part of a ten week trip around the world. It rates its five star status hands down over numerous regular hotels elsewhere in Asia and even Africa! Beginning with the attentive check in staff, I knew this hotel was truly distinct; house keeping was immaculate! If one didn't know... More

What a surprise to find this 5 star ger in the Gobi. Although an hour from the airport, it doesn't matter. Use this place as your base and explore from here. Having an en suite toilet and sink in your ger makes a big difference. No wandering to a far off loo in the middle of the night. The showers... More

This was our second ger camp and although we had an ensuite loo the ger itself wasn't as cosy as our first (Gobi Discovery). This was because there was no interior lining (covering the ger frame) and the place was teeming with little black beetles that kept falling down onto us/the bed. But commenting after having stayed in 7 ger... More

A great place to stay in the Gobi, hands down. It's an hour drive from the airport, but that's pretty close compared to everything in the Gobi. We stayed there one night, traveled to another part of the Gobi to stay at a different ger camp, and then came back. It was like coming home again! Beds are comfortable, gers... More

My husband and I discovered that we could indeed be comfortable in a yurt (ger). We were given one of the deluxe ones, named Dog ger, with sink and toilet, which made it much more comfortable for necessary visits in the middle of the night. The queen size bed was perfect for the two of us, with my husband being... More
