We were a party of six and stayed at Cape Dutch Quarters in September 2014. Tulbagh is a really beautiful town and Cape Dutch Quarters has been restored beautifully, complete with antique furniture and crockery and cutlery. CDQ is well situated over the road from really excellent restaurants. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will return.

Though we arrived late at night, our host answered his phone right away and we were soon in our rooms. What a stunning location, comfortable art deco style rooms, and I felt right at home. We had a view over the main road, and I loved the fact that we were centrally situated. The only quirk was that we didn't... More

Friendly, helpful and informative hosts (passionate about their town). Great breakfast enjoyed the concept of sharing the table with other guests. Outside poolside area super for sun downers and relaxing at the end of the day before heading off to supper at one of the local quality eating venues.

My husband and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when in Tulbach. Jason and Marcel are the perfect hosts with so much knowledge about the history of the beautiful little town. Grab a book and relax by the plunge pool or stroll down Church street and soak up all the history of a bygone era. Bliss.

Very hospitable, Jayson went out of his way to accommodate us. We arrived late and a day early, and it was no problem. I love the theme of the room we stayed in. All in all, an excellent stay. I would highly recommend!

Very nice place, lovely old furniture and stylish rooms. During a rainy weekend it was a home for us abroad. Breakfast was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Thanks for a very pleasant stay in Tulbagh!

Only disappointment was NO flowers, chocolates or complimentary bottle of Spring water as promised in brochure and room fact file. Was also told that we had private door to garden, but we just had normal access which meant traipsing through the house to the back courtyard or narrow front veranda. As smokers we spent miserable times freezing to death in... More

I've been to Tulbagh several times before, but have never stayed in the historic buildings in Church Street. The accommodation at Cape Dutch Quarters was really cosy and provided a lovely retreat from the snowy surrounding mountains outside.

We are returning guests, having stayed in the same house over December 2013. At our first visit we booked for breakfast as well, which was quite good. This time around we only used the accommodation. The houses date from a different erg, with very thick walls, providing for a cool summer stay. In winter time this becomes quite a cold... More

We have just returned from "Christmas in Winter" in Tulbagh. We stayed at the Cape Dutch Quarter in a magnificent, charming spacious suite. This is one of the restored buildings after the terrible flood in 1969 which destroyed most buildings in Church Street. It is quaint and very comfortable with all modern conveniences. Our hosts were delightful and nothing was... More
