Only disappointment was NO flowers, chocolates or complimentary bottle of Spring water as promised in brochure and room fact file. Was also told that we had private door to garden, but we just had normal access which meant traipsing through the house to the back courtyard or narrow front veranda. As smokers we spent miserable times freezing to death in... More

I've been to Tulbagh several times before, but have never stayed in the historic buildings in Church Street. The accommodation at Cape Dutch Quarters was really cosy and provided a lovely retreat from the snowy surrounding mountains outside.

We are returning guests, having stayed in the same house over December 2013. At our first visit we booked for breakfast as well, which was quite good. This time around we only used the accommodation. The houses date from a different erg, with very thick walls, providing for a cool summer stay. In winter time this becomes quite a cold... More

We have just returned from "Christmas in Winter" in Tulbagh. We stayed at the Cape Dutch Quarter in a magnificent, charming spacious suite. This is one of the restored buildings after the terrible flood in 1969 which destroyed most buildings in Church Street. It is quaint and very comfortable with all modern conveniences. Our hosts were delightful and nothing was... More

The Accommodation was neat and lovely. We have been well assisted during the electricity outage. The Receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. We shall definitely visit the Cape Quarters again.

Cape Dutch Quarters have lots of charm and the old heritage building is exquisite. Stayed in the honeymoon Suite which was absolutely lovely. If one could ask for anything it could have been a slightly warmer room as it was freezing outside and the heaters had not been put on. This was easily rectified though. Lovely breakfast as well.

This haven is set on the most beautiful street in Tulbagh. Gayle has made up the rooms and bathroom beautifully. James is a wine guru, so be sure to ask his advice on where to find the best wine Tulbagh has to offer.

Number 24 Church St (Cape Dutch Quarters) was luxurious and beautifully furnished. We enjoyed all comforts in this historical gem, as well as a very good breakfast (and service) at the communal dining room. Thanks to Gail for her friendly and attentive communication.
