Though the decor is a little battered and jaded our room was clean & functional & it was a great touch that the radiator was already on & the room warm on arrival. The food was basic but well done with good portion sizes & enough choices for a short stay. What really impressed me though was the staff. Everyone... More

We stayed at the hotel from 26 Sep till 28 Sep. Our group booked a room for 2 pax and another room for 3 pax (where I stayed). The room for 3 persons has 2 levels, accessible by a gradual staircase. 2 single beds on level 1 and 1 double bed on level 2. Privacy for upper level is secured... More

Hello, Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay despite the wifi connection available. It sounds like you were in on a special package, as wifi is not usually complimentary, but $4 for 24 hours unlimited. Your package included 24 hours of complimentary unlimited wifi. Despite this we agree with you in that the connection... More

Stayed here for three nights for a wedding--which took place at the Lodge. The first two nights we stayed with other guests. The rooms were okay--we got a discount for staying three nights and as part of the wedding party, but I thought the value wasn't super great. Rooms could use an upgrade. The location comes into play here, since... More

Location to Whakapapa perfect and family loft room made trip more affordable as self catering. Cafe food (had one evening)not as good this trip as previous year but service very friendly. Competitive rates and value for money - would stay again.

The room was fine, hotel was fine, the customer service was good, only downside a large group of teens were running between their rooms and talking loudly in the halls which kept my kids up late but hey we were all excited teens once!

The hotel has nice facilities and service, but if you can't sleep because of noisy guests and very thin walls, what's the point? I stayed here two nights: 4-BED DORM: The bunk beds are made of solid wood, so they don't shake or make noise most. The ensuite bathroom is good, but at this price point, towels and/or toiletries are... More

We thought after reading the other reviews we would be staying in a hostel but it was much better than that. The basic room does not come with a TV but there is a big tv in the lounge area. We were surprised to find two spa-pools, unfortunately we did not bring our togs. The rooms are a bit noisy,... More

The staff were fantastic, the food yum, coffee gave the perfect buzz. The room was warm on arrival while freezing outside, the room a loft self contained was clean, spacious and comfortable. It is rated a 3 star and I was presently surprised. I would definitely stay again.

Very expensive for a backpacker standard ..... claims to be hotel. Room - in a town with naff all to do there is no tv. Very small bathroom. Noisey can hear next door and outside. Bed not even made. Only change towels. Bar/resturant - not cheapest. Come out stinking of food as no extract fans seem to be on.

Just spent 18 nights for the ski season and had a great stay. On confirmation before we left was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade from a premier double to a self contained loft. The staff are the standout, nothing was too much trouble and Colin the breakfast cook was a fountain of knowledge sharing info about the local area.... More
