My workmates and I stayed here for two nights to do the Tongariro Crossing - this place is fantastic, rooms were really well maintained and clean, the whole place had such a great atmosphere, the bar is brilliant with a nice outdoor area and the restaurant has FANTASTIC food, we are from Auckland and rated the food more than a... We originally booked for two nights but stayed for four including new year's eve. We were happy with the well sized accommodation in the "loft room." Only small issue with the room was that it was rather dark and the lighting was not sufficient to deal with this. The staff worked really hard as a team and always with a... More

We were very happy with the Tongariro crossing package which included two nights accommodation with breakfast on both mornings, packed lunches for the trek, and transport to and from the ends of the Tongariro crossing track. I thought the package was excellent value for money and it was great having everything organised for us. Breakfast is served from 0630hr, the... More

Stayed one night prior to doing the Tongiriro crossing. The room slept four, one double upstairs and two singles down stairs, The double bed felt 'damp' not sure what was going on in it prior to our arrival. Other than that, the room was sufficient for a one night stay, but would not like to stay there any longer than... More

Hello, Thank you for reviewing your stay. We are located in a rural area, with farm land just opposite the road which is main contributing factor to having flies, not rubbish, which is collected and disposed of on a regular basis. If there was an issue with your room, it would have been helpful to be made aware of this... More

We enjoyed a long weekend here with 4 kids and 2 couples. Rooms make great use of space worked well for a couple of nights but not a lot of spare room for kids. Great to have option of restaurant or shared facilities.friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed the open fire and spa. Handy to the mountain.

Room (and especially the bathroom) were small but comfortable. Accommodations were clean. Hot tub felt good after a long day of hiking. Water in hot tub could have been cleaner. Food served in bar was very good. Woman at front desk was friendly and helpful.

Stayed for two nights when we did the Tongariro Crossing. Really liked the price of the package we booked, which included two breakfasts, a packed lunch for the hike, and transport to and from the mountain. Excellent service from friendly staff made us feel very welcome (that is when booking, in the pub and restaurant, at the front desk, and... More

We stayed at the Park Hotel for one night in June. We were upgraded from a Standard room to a Deluxe. The presentation of the room was beautiful and our first impression was very good! However, it didn't quite live up to those expectations. The bed and pillows were quite uncomfortable, you can barely hear the television and the bathroom,... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. We appreciate your comments regarding your room upgrade- the difference between the standard and premium rooms is the size of the ensuite (the premium rooms has a larger one). Regardless of this, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay overall and found our staff friendly. Thanks again:) More

Stayed for 1 night in a dorm room and found it to be good value. The room itself was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hot tubs were a welcome addition after being out walking for the day. Food in the restaurant was tasty, and service was friendly.

We stayed here for a weekend ski trip and would definitely recommend this hotel. Our room was small but comfortable, clean and upon arrival we found that our heater had already been turned on so our room was nice and warm. My only complaint would be that service the next morning at breakfast was not that great. They had a... More
