Very expensive for a backpacker standard ..... claims to be hotel. Room - in a town with naff all to do there is no tv. Very small bathroom. Noisey can hear next door and outside. Bed not even made. Only change towels. Bar/resturant - not cheapest. Come out stinking of food as no extract fans seem to be on.

Just spent 18 nights for the ski season and had a great stay. On confirmation before we left was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade from a premier double to a self contained loft. The staff are the standout, nothing was too much trouble and Colin the breakfast cook was a fountain of knowledge sharing info about the local area.... More

As always great times with friends. Despite not being able to ski due to poor weather, a soak in the spa was still enjoyable! You always meet interesting and fun people at the Park and this trip was no different. Would recommend the restaurant for hearty meals - I had the Burger and Lamb Shanks which were both superb. It... Had arranged to meet friends for a coffee and snack at the The Park. Noticed that the cafe sign was on the footpath by the main road when I arrived. Inside was cold and the cafe area had a sign saying orders could be made at the bar which was closed. After waiting at reception (also cold) for some time,... More

Hello Our "café" opens from 6.30am to 10.00am for breakfast. after this time we only serve coffees as most of our guests are either skiing or on the crossing. The sign out the front clearly shows we are open from 5-9pm for meals and on the other side of the sign shows "coffee" the sign you saw in the restaurant... More

We've stayed here before and liked it, but I don't think we'll be back. This time we could only get a "standard" room, but frankly it was pretty budget (not on price.) It was badly dated and damaged: venetian blind broken, bathroom window broken/ insecure, electric jug faulty, no basin plug etc. Reception were;t very interested in these faults, saying... More

I visited with friends and this place was average in terms of rooms. its set at a good location if you planning to go to Whakapapa. on our first night stay we decided to eat at the in house restaurant spiral bar. 2 friends asked for the curry of the day... chicken green thai curry. 1 of them asked to... Hello in regards to your comments on the staff and the restaurant, I have spoken to them about this. Firstly we do a great curry and people comment on this, this curry is not a HOT curry and is not cooked to be that way, it is as they describe as a NZ curry. Mild and if you want it... More

While I booked knowing it was an inexpensive hostel, I booked here based on some other peoples comments and photos. Unfortunately it seems not all the rooms have been done up. Our room did not have the amenities shown in other customers photos, ours was small, dark and tired. Paper thin walls meant we weren't sure if there was someone... More

Good place for backpackers not so great for families rooms are tiny with no noise proofing and definitely not worth close to two hundred bucks a night, it's more of a student hostel style set up. Staff are nice and friendly tho.

I stayed here for 1 night after doing the Tongariro crossing. I stayed in a 3 bed dorm room which was excellent. It was very well equipped and clean. There was a bar on site with restaurant which was very good. There was also a hot tub which was great to ease your aching muscles after the big trek. I... More

We had booked a standard double room but were upgraded to the premium. Room was neat and tidy. Some of the fixings were a bit work down. Had 1 10 month old with us and we had room to put up a camping cot. Restaurant served good value food and was a comfortable atmosphere. Staff were great and offered plenty... More
