Stayed here with my family for my parents 50th wedding anniversary in the local pub. Great place, friendly, homely and great breakfast. Location is excellent for exploring the area. Also many pubs are in walking distance.

We were blown away by the beautiful 17th century house - each bedroom is named after a giant of the industrial revolution. Spetacular location and so convinient for all attractions around Iron Bridge. The owner was very attentive and we loved the whole experience. We shall be returning sometime when we are in the area again.

Having just come back from a weekend at Calcutts House, I can honestly say, that it's one of the best b&b's we have ever stayed in. We were met by James, who made us feel very welcome, and after showing us our room, made us a pot of tea and coffee, just what we needed after a long day. Our... More

We stayed for just one night whilst visiting Ironbridge and were made to feel very welcome. Tea and coffee on arrival and clean and cosy rooms with all facilities. Breakfast is excellent and more than adequate for a day's visiting. If you are visiting this area this is the place to stay.

Two colleagues and I were on a work trip, but staying at Calcutts House made it feel more like a holiday! The rooms were lovely - really cosy, beautifully decorated and clean. I felt like I was going home to my own bedroom after a day's work (except the room at Calcutts was much cleaner and tidier!). James and Sarah... More

Note : Stay in the ajoining building (The Coach House), you will miss out on the free WiFi. If this is important to you, go for a room in the main house. The room we booked was in the Coach House - The William Reynolds room. The room had all the facilities (except WiFi). The heater was a remote control... More

Thanks for your review, sorry you found it a pain to ask James to alter the heating. We try to set it so most guests find it comfortable but we don't always get it right. We have to have the heating set via a remote as it is a rather complicated procedure to have it going on and off at... More

Lovely period house in quiet area within 15 min walking distance of iron bridge We arrived an hour early, tired and wondering if we could get into our room. we were given a very warm welcome by James, who did not mind we had come early and invited us in for a much appreciated cup of tea, and we were... Could not fault the welcome we received at The Calcutts House. The Lord Dundonald Room is magnificent. The Four Poster Bed is huge and very comfortable but was let down by a man-made fibre duvet without a top sheet. This seems to be the norm in some establishments - but I am old fashioned and much prefer cotton sheets and... More

Our first experience of Calcutts House was a warm welcome with coffee provided by host James and his faithful dog, whose name I have forgotten. We booked at the last minute, and so we had to take the James Glazebrook suite, which it has to be said, is rather small and provides a view of the sky! However it was... More

Ideally situated, quiet and charming, Calcutts House offers a very good bed and breakfast. I stayed in the spacious William Hazeldine room with its quaint French period furniture. Quaint however, does not mean practical in this case. The drawers were too small to put anything in and the bottom was falling out of the dressing table stool. Hanging space was... More
