We stayed at the Ice Hotel for 2 nights in December 2007. One night in the cold accommodation in an Art Suite and one night in a warm Kaamos room. I wont repeat everything here except to say you simply must go. I found myself continually pinching myself the entire time as the whole experience is one you will never... More

We spent 2 nights in Kiruna in mid-March 2008. What an amazing trip! We coordinated our first day directly with Kiruna guidetur. They picked up our group at the airport, transported us to their home. We then changed into the appropriate outer wear (snowsuits, boots, gloves & hats) provided by Kiruna guidtur. We then did dogsledding in the afternoon! It... More

We have just returned from a three night break at the Ice Hotel Sweden. We got married on the second day too!! We booked our trip with Discover The World who appear remarkably relaxed and this can sometimes be worrying!! I later found out that this is because they don`t seem to want to spoil your experience by giving too... More

The break was booked by my husband as a surprise birthday present so I wasn't at all sure what to expect other than it would be very cold. Clotheswise you don't really need much as you spend most of the time in your skiwear plus thermals which is perfectly adequate or you can borrow full snowsuits along with gloves and... More

We stayed at the ice hotel in March 2008. It was very facinating being picked up from the airport and transported by dog sled to the hotel. We were asked to don snow suits, boots and mittens along with a hat to keep us warm. The ice hotel as per other reviews is of course unique and not a place to... More

I can't add too much to the reviews raving about this place, except to add some considerations if you are taking children. While the Ice Hotel accepts children, it states on its website that they don't make special provisions for them. Mine are older- 11 and 13 and so this was not a problem for us except in one respect-... More

We have just returned from three nights at the Icehotel for my Brothers wedding. It’s a great place, well worth the visit. Book your activities before you go as there is not much else to do. Our programme worked really well; Day 1 Flew from Stockholm to Kiruna (on arrival at the Airport it was a horrendous! Not enough space... More

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in the ICEHOTEL and it was amazing. If you are reading these reviews trying to decide whether to go or not ......DO IT - you won't regret it! We booked our trip through Discover the World and would recommend them for many reasons:- 1. They know the ICEHOTEL really well as... More

This is a definite once in a lifetime experience – just go for it! Most people spend one night in the igloo part of the hotel & one or more nights in the warm cabins. Make sure if you stay in the igloo part you ask for a suite, they are MUCH nicer. For the warm cabins, we had a... More

SmallEffingham, Work for the worlds largest tour operator to the Icehotel at Icehotel, responded to this review

We have noted a number of comments on Trip Advisor about the high cost of excursions operated by the Icehotel. Discover the World, is the largest operator in the world to the Icehotel and we have been working in this area of Lapland for a great many years, in fact even before the Icehotel was even thought about! Yes, Icehotel... More

I have just come back having stayed with my girlfriend at the Icehotel. We opted for the warm night on the first night and the cold on the second. We opted for a suite in the icehotel as you have a sculpted room and the likelihood is that you will probably only ever do it once. The suites are worth... More
