We had five days at the ice hotel including New Year's Eve and finishing with a wedding. The hotel was a wonderful experience with plenty to do, and only a few niggles. We partook of many excursions, the best being with Kiruna Guideturs, who offer small groups, personal service and a much lower cost than booking directly with the hotel.... More

Went recently to the Ice Hotel and it is impressive but what we found was that we seemed to have alot of hanging around with nowhere to go. When you check into the cold part you basically have no room until after 22.00 and unless you want to stay outside for hours you end up in the reception area or... More

Simply Sweden booked our 4 day tour over the New Year, please, please, use them. Chirs was excellent he explains everything and advises you how to avoid the 'no room period' and they even book your flight seats. The magic of the trip will stay with me and my son forever, expensive you bet, but pay the dosh trust me,... More

Ice hotel in jukkasjarvi (pronounced yukkasyarvi apparently) was excellent. A brilliant once in a lifetime experience. The reception is very helpful and you get a map to help you around. I stayed in the cold rooms for a night so you get to safely store your luggage in the warm dressing room, which has decent toilet and shower and changing... More

As most reviewers have noted, this is a expensive experience, so the best thing to do is leave your wallet at the door and get on with it! Realistically, it is something you want to do only once, so make the most of it. We went as part of a tour, staying in the town of Kiruna nearby for most... More

The Ice Hotel is a truly amazing creation. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, and it's worth going all that way and spending all that money just to see it. On the whole, we had a fantastic time, although like all holidays there were good points and bad points. Good points: the Ice Hotel... More

Slept in a Ice Room first night. The experience is a 10/10 but the actual sleeping for me was 2/10. When you get to the hotel you will be allocated your room. You will then be either given a small locker or a small changing room that you can lock to put your gear in. We arrived at 1:30pm and... More

The Icehotel is amazing, but if you want the full experience, don't book until January, as it was not finished when we went. We were told that every year it is not finished til Jan. It was slightly disappointing that the ice part was not complete, ie there was only a temporary IceBar that was nothing like what the finished... More

Really well geared up for those of us who love our creature comforts but like to try new things. The cabins we spent the majority of our stay in were cosy and the night in the ice hotel itself was ... well cold! But really quite something. Not so sure about the hot logan-berry squash in the morning though!

We went to the ice hotel for Christmas 2005. As with most people, we spent one night in the ice hotel proper, followed by another night in one of the hotel rooms. We slept fairly well, not cold really, although if you get up to pee in the middle of the night, expect to have to put clothing/boots/etc. on. The... More
