Like many of the hotels in Lapland, the Saaga hotel caters for individuals and package travellers. We booked as individuals and ate in the a-la-carte restaurant. We had a room overlooking the ski slope, with a balcony, and since we arrived quite late, there weren't too many people skiing, but it was fascinating watching the men and machines grooming the... + Breakfast was delicious and there was wide selection + Location next to ski lifts and crosscountry tracks, good bus connection to train station and airport + Dinner buffet just ok - Visit at the spa was not so enjoyable. Many guests were breaking the spa rules all the time but nobody cared (children running and screaming, jumping in the... More

Amazing holiday. I would move to Finland in an instant after staying here. We booked a holiday through Thompson to experience the Christmas Lapland experience. We were not disappointed. Husky rides, reindeer sleighs, snow-mobiles, ice hotel...it was all just perfect. The food was amazing too. If you are going to Finland, then please dont expect to eat English food (stay... More

Our family of 4 enjoyed really much our short visit in Ylläs. Our apartment was next to the lifts and it was great to leave all equipment in the cellar. The kitchen in the apartment had all we need during our stay. We also really enjoyed the sauna. The local little store was in the same building. We had our... More

Hotel was good, we stayed at one of the adjoining apartments which had a walkway from the hotel......but we had food on a half board basis. A la carte restaurant is available but we didnt use it so cant comment on how good the food was! Nice and convenient to the slopes, ski buses for the other resort or cross... More

We stayed in the apartments ("chalets") on a hlaf board basis for 7 days. This is our 12th visit to Finland, but our first to this hotel. It is on a par with other "4*" Finnish hotels we've stayed in (UK guests should note that 4* Finnish is not the same as 4* UK. Rooms are clean, bedroom and WC... More

Hotel was fine, next to the skiing piste. Food was so,so. Service was great. Nice swimming pool and wellness. Really enjoyed but due to off season no restaurants or pubs were opened. So we had to dine in the hotel.

This was my second visit to Saaga, previous time I stayed in the chalet but now in the hotel side. We got room from first floor, views to parking lot and the windows were towards the walking pavement, so couldn't keep the curtains open, as cars and people were going by. The owner has changed from Holiday Club to Lapland... More

Just returned to the UK from a family half term trip to Lapland. Our first time in any Scandanavian country and we enjoyed it enormously. Our quest was for skiing, fun excursions and to see the Northern Lights and I am happy to say that we got all of that from this trip. We stayed in one of the Saaga... More

We decided to return to the Saaga after a disappointing visit last year when the weather was low cloud every single day. Thankfully, this year we we were blessed with clear skies every day bar one and even a glimpse of the northern lights on one evening. Please don't go there expecting to see them, I've seen a better display... More
