We went cross country skiing for the first time (March 2012). Stayed at Yllas log cabins. These cabins are excellent value for money and close to the lake (great north light views). They have all the facilities you can expect and more (sauna and drying room). We were 3 and they were designed from 6 (could have slept 8). Lots... More

I have been to ylläs over ten times and always in theese cabins. The cabin I stayed in this year was an eight person cabin. The cabin had two tv:s, a refrigerator, a freeezer, two toilets, eight beds, a shower, a kitchen that DID NOT include a frying pan, a sauna, lockers. The cabin was two floors high. The skiing... We have just come back from Lapland and wow what a holiday!! We stayed for a week in the Yllas log cabins. On first impressions you think its a bit small but in fact it had all we needed for the week and was warm and cosy. We ate in once and ate out in the restaurants the rest of... More

I visited this 'resort' in January 2012 with my wife and another couple. We shared a 'three bedroom' log cabin as being couples we wanted two separate bedrooms as opposed to one of the couples having to use the mezzanine. The log cabin was great. Two ground floor bedrooms, open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen. WC and separate shower... More

We were very excited about this location given all the positive reviews of previous travellers. Our first impression (at 9pm so dark) was that the cabin was quite small but well-equipped and cosy. Having to make up our bed wasn't a particularly great welcome but OK we could cope. Morning and the rest of the stay brought a dose of... More

We booked the Santa trip with Inghams staying in the log cabin with meals at the Akas Hotel. The cabin was great, all the mod cons, well stocked and very comfortable. The meals at the hotel weren't great, if we were to return I would book self catering as the supermarket was well stocked and about a 10 minte walk.... More

I can't wait to go back. We (myself and 3 teenagers) stayed in the Yllas Log Cabins between Christmas and New Year 2011 travelling with Inghams. Akaslompolo is an absolutely magical place - not only are the Finns extremely friendly and welcoming, but the scenery is absolutely stunning. We loved learning to cross country ski, and I can't recommend highly... More

We got back from akaslompolo last Sunday. Went with Inghams and already want to book up for next year for 2 weeks. The cabins are superb, facilities just as described, I cant remember having such a calming soothing holiday ever. With fab Finnish hospitality and everything that you need on your doorstep, I wouldn't want to spoil it for you... More

We stayed in the Log Cabins from 29th January 2012 to 5th February 2012 and had a great time. The cabin was so well stocked with everything you could ever imagine, every kitchen utensil you can think of in the world! Layout of the cabins is lovely, nice having the open plan upstairs area. Sauna is amazing, but tip, DO... More

I have just returned from a week in Yllas with my girlfriend and It was excellent. we stayed in the lumipoku area where the cabins are and we had easy access to cross country skiing and were only a short walk from the akas hotel where the trips departed from. The weather was -35 so that was the only bad... More
