A "palace" hotel can be nice but this is a true, historic castle, a magnificent 17th century building set in beautiful grounds. We had a lovely, quiet room on the top floor at a reasonable price. The window was small, but the view grand :-) The rooms are all beautifully and individually decorated, covering a broad price range. Breakfast is... More

Chateau de Bourron is a beautiful "Maison de famille", very convenient to visit Fontainebleau and its surroundings. Our room (La Bedoyère) was just above the "salon" where they held a diner the night we stayed at the Chateau. We had to deal with shouting and screaming until late at night, which is not what you expect when you go to... More

Thank you for saying that chateau de Bourron is a beautiful "Maison de Famille" and that it is easy to visit Fontainebleau, it is true. We do apologize for the reception you did have, We are normally making a clear choice either Hotel or exclusivity for reception but we are not doing both for preventing such problem ! It seems... Chateau de Bourron is a beautiful 17th century family owned Chateau near Fontainebleau surrounded by its own grounds. The family offer "bed and breakfast" in their home - an attractive alternative to nearby hotels. The room we stayed in was named after Queen Marie Leszczynska, who is thought to have spent time there in 1725. Having also seen the room... More

I am very sorry for your expectation you didn't fulfil with! You are right saying that there is nothing to compare between the royal chateau de Fontainebleau, the apartment of the queen and the one at the château de Bourron. The apartment at the château de Bourron was for the father of Marie Leszczynska, dismissed king of Poland and the... More

This was a gem! Wonderful location and set in magnificent grounds.......a 'lived-in' chateau and loved home. Peaceful and a perfect place for cycling in the grounds. A great location for us to enjoy another chateau - Fontainbleau, just 7 klms away. Breakfasts were superb and our room was so tastefully furnished and very spacious. Our hosts Estrella and Guy were... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights with my two adult children in July. The Chateau and it's owners were very accommodating and arranged dinners in the local town and Le Premises in the old stables. Both were excellent. The only thing that would have added to the experience would have been the opportunity to have a pre dinner... More

We strongly recommend you pay the extra money for the romance package. We had our own private chef and waitress in the breakfast room at the chateaux who presented the most delicious meal we have eaten to date! Guy (the owner) was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful to stroll around and it was... More

My husband and I and his family (eight people total-including 5 adults and 3 children ages 10-13) stayed one night in the end of March. It was fantastic! The chateau itself is beautiful and well taken care of by staff. The rooms were perfect, not a detail had been overlooked. Down to the faucet fixtures were just charming. We strolled... More

Our stay at the Chateau was an amazing experience. It was as if we had drifted back several centuries in time with all the gentility, peacefulness, and period details, yet with every modern convenience available. The Count and his staff were gracious in every way.

We recently stayed one night at this charming old chateau. It is set in parkland where you are free to explore. The rooms are furnished traditionally, and walls decorated with original tapestries. It certainly does feel like being in someone's home, as indeed you are. I would agree with all the comments about the owners and environment. I would best... More
