We stayed at Cal Sastre on a two week walking holiday with Inntravel. The hotel itself was quirky and interesting, much nicer than the usual plastic hotel chain. The hotel sits just outside the beautiful little town of Santa Pau with great views of the walls and towers. This was one of my favourite stops of the trip. Núria and... More

Exceptional welcome and continuing helpfulness from the staff. English spoken. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. Linked to restaurant of the same name with excellent food in nearby main square. Santa Pau is largely a mediaeval village. Well situated for walkers to visit the Volcanic Park and see the outstanding local scenery.

We have known many other hotels and, in our opinion, the hospitality of this hotel is unique. It is the second time we stayed at Cal Sastre and we always were afforded a very respectful and warm reception. The receptionist and manager paid attention to every detail in order to make our stay more comfortable. Rooms are tastefully decorated and... More

Delightful location. Excellent rooms filled with quirky, interesting artworks and furniture. No soap, water or other refreshments in the rooms. Be prepared to have to lock up the hotel yourself after 21:00 when the proprietor and staff disappear. If you want a drink after this time, DO NOT, as we did, take a bottle of wine from the bar and... More

We had a wonderful stay at Cal Sastre and the restaurant was totally enjoyable. The tranquil and peaceful medieval town was a welcome relief because of the quiet deliciousness of the surroundings. The owners were welcoming and did a marvelous job accommodating our needs..The owners also had a wonderful sense of humor. I would highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times. We first discovered it on a hike with ATG and have returned for the beautiful area (many hikes) and the Cal Sastre hotel. It is so nice to sit on a deck or in the back yard and enjoy the weather and the sound of birds. After a week traveling around Spain... More

A charming, rustic hotel in a beautiful part of the world. Our hosts were anxious to attend to our every need, both in the hotel and their restaurant in the village. Lovely late afternoon hours spent lazing in the garden with a drink after a day's walking.

The hotel was very nice and had a wonderful garden area in the back. The owners were very accommodating and did a fantastic job of orienting us to the area and making us feel at home. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you visit Garroxta, Catallunya then Santa Pau is a "must do" location. If you visit Santa Pau then Cal Sastre Hotel is a "must do" destination. Stay a while and spend some time seeing the magnificent location. Jordi and Nuria for Cal Sastre would be the the best hosts I have experienced all over the world. The hotel is... More

We loved this hotel. It was comfortable yet elegant, with a distinctive, charming decor; there were nice touches throughout the hotel. Gordi, our principal contact, and Nouria, his colleague, were extremely friendly and helpful, from offering us a warm spot to dry our wet hiking boots to serving us a complimentary digestif in the garden before bed. The food served... More
