I booked for 4 nights on a business trip to Buckinghamshire. After a 5 hour journey I arrived at 8.00pm on a Sunday evening to be told that they were not doing any food. It seemed to be staffed by some quite junior staff. I was told on reception that they did bar meals till 8.30, in the bar the... More

Very small double room with a disproportionally large bathroom. Breakfast on Sunday was shambolic as they couldn't cope with a large number of people at the one time. Waited over an hour for a cooked breakfast.

Chartridge Lodge looked very attractive on arrival with ample parking spaces. Our room was in the old building right at the top after flights of steep, narrow stairs which were fine for us but maybe less able guests might want to check first where their room is located. On entering the room we noticed the TV was missing. We don't... More

We stayed here for my friends wedding and if it wasn't for that I would have made more of a fuss. The water pumps or extractor fans woke us up at 7am, but was already sort of awake because the curtains were useless anyway! The shower had no holder, the bed was tiny and there were earwigs all around the... More

After reading previous reviews we were apprehensive,we needn't have been its a lovely place in a fab setting. We were checked in with a pleasant receptionist, our room was changed due to my 86years young husband couldn't manage the steep stairs to the first room, this was done by the Manager Steven without any fuss even though the hotel was very busy with... Friendly welcome, stayed in the delightful cottage for 2 nights whilst travelling around the area. Rooms were delightful, clean and light but the double bed was a little small and not what you would call overly comfortable. It was however very quiet and relaxing. Room was cleaned well and drinks etc replenished. The only fault was the shower which was... More

Check in was quick, nothing fancy and no frills. Room was very drab and shower extremely small, however on discovering that it had no WiFi I asked to be changed to another room. The second room was very similar to the first but did have Wifi, it was also next to a very noisy extractor fan (switched off between 21hrs-6.30hrs)... More

Stayed overnight at this hotel, very unfriendly receptionist on arrival definitely did not have good customer service skills. My room was very uninviting a bit like a travel lodge with dirty windows and flies. Do not bother. Paid over £70 with measly breakfast just for good measure. Really bad telephone network.

Chartridge Lodge was the perfect location for our wedding. We needed a venue with onsite accommodation for our international guests, and Chartridge proved to offer value for money....and exceptional service. Everyone was delighted with their rooms. Other reviews comment that rooms are "tired" or "dated". Please be aware that the hotel is in the process of renovating rooms, so this... More

The hotel is in a very good rural location. When you look about it, everything tells you to expect class. However. When we arrived at reception, the lady behind the desk completely ignored us and continued talking on the phone. The room we were in looked nice but everything about it was quite tired. The bathroom was immense, but the... More
