We liked this place so much we came back and used it for our Wedding reception!!!... The large deck with views of the entire mountain and tidal estuary made a great platform for our band to play and our crowd to mingle.. Chris had set up an outside bar with fridges, the whole place got decorated.. we used the barn... More

My partner and I unfortunately only had one night's stay at the Raglan Farmstay, but it is amazing to think about what a memorable impression this place made on us both in such a short time. Chris, the host, was so warm, welcoming and helpful. There was the option of joining him and the others in the shared common room... More

Hi, my partner and I were travelling all over Oz and NZ for 5 weeks. We were here 4 nights & thoroughly enjoyed the place, the location, fab views and the wonderfully laid back host, Chris, not forgetting others like Ella and James. It is a quirky, unusual place. We stayed in the main farmhouse and the master bedroom is... More

This review is solely about the Flax Cove Cottage as we didn't get to see the main farm house. Note that all pics on their website are of the main house & none are of Flax Cove Cottage. We stayed at the cottage with extended family & it is a good thing we're comfortable with each other as the sleeping... More

We had an amzing stay at the farmstay over the waitangi weekend. The property is well looked after and also a little quirky. It has some lovely features, from the unique art work to the lovingly restored floors. Chris is fantastic host, accommodating and friendly. He even dropped off an item we had left in the room on his way... More

Chris provides a truly unique experience. Very comfortable, breakfast outstanding, incredible views, interesting people. Evidence of Chris's creative nature is evident throughout the property. Variety of lodging options, some with private bath in the house. We stayed in a family cabin with shared bath which worked well for us (family of three). We chose to interact with others, which we... Of the eight places we stayed during our New Zealand visit, this was the most interesting and the most difficult to review. We are two couples who on the last night of our New Zealand holiday picked Raglan Farmstay because of its proximity to Aukland and our flight home the next day. Driving in past the broken down bus and... More

This is definitely a place to bring different generations and types of people together. The accommodation is as different and varied as its customers. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Chris, the owner, is a great entertainer and at the same time, knows how to run a business where people of different backgrounds can feel welcome. Our room was spacious... More
