I spent just 1 night here in a single room but it was a memorable stay. Prior to my arrival, I had made some changes to my booking via email, and the staff were always prompt and polite in facilitating the changes. On the day itself, I arrived much later than expected due to transport delay, hence I could not... More

the place is pretty awesome, perfect if you want to chill, relax, enjoy the many hammock and jacuzzi, really cool! however I`d work a bit more on the staff, sometimes would seem a bit careless... the place has so many potentials, please get the best out of it! bad side: you can`t stay longer than 7 days.....

Overall a clean and tidy backpackers with well equipped kitchen very good bathrooms which have new fittings. The hostel was well run, with friendly staff. Lots of storage space. Close to the centre, bus stop, library and a supermarket. Although no wifi there are 2 free to use PCs and outside the library has free Wi-Fi.

I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and had a great time. It is well located, about a 2 min walk to town and right on the estuary. If you want to surf the surfing beaches are about an 8min drive away. There are two kitchens, the one in closest to reception is almost always crowded but well stocked.... More

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback, we are glad you had a good time, and thanks for the comments about the flies. We do try very hard to deal with the Waikato-wide problem this time of year. At the end of summer flies tend to congregate in rural areas in NZ. I guess its nice that we are fly... More

I really like this place I'm used to spend here my holidays in Raglan. Nice staff and location. It as a lot of facilities. Clean and tidy common areas, and they have really reasonable rules: you can have you're drink on the hot tub but everyone is consious enough to respect other people sleep! Highly recommended!

As an older woman traveling alone I've had about enough of hot, stuffy shared dorm rooms in so-so accommodations. Raglan Backpackers has restored my faith that awesome accommodations can be had at a budget price. CLEAN, spacious, friendly, quiet and very comfortable, even though the majority of the guests were young surfers. Free kayaks, $2 bikes, lots of comfy spots... More

Decided to stay here very last minute. The guy who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. The backpackers itself is arranged so that it is a very social and open place with a real community feel making it easy to meet new people. Great facilities including a spa, sauna, free Internet and even a communal beer fridge. Comfy... More

My partner and I are in our 50's yet we still found The Raglan backpackers to be a delightful place to stay. We were worried about being kept up by rowdy parties but it was not the case. The management do a great job of keeping the sleeping areas quiet. the other guests were really friendly and courteous. The kitchen... More

This was the first hostel my husband and I stayed in ever; married for 30 years. We loved the experience although we were the oldest guests. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, The shared bath area was through a connecting door and had a good lock on the shower. I was very impressed with the amenities.... More
