I stayed in this pousada for 3 nights and loved it. The pool and outdoor setting are great for relaxing and provide a very smart feel to the pousada that one rarely finds in the low cost category. The rooms are comfortable and the hot water works well. The staff are very friendly and can arrange drivers to nearby attractions.... More

I have been in this posada for a weekend, but it was a shame that the restaurant inside was not working, not even for breakfast. Furthermore the pool remained empty for the whole weekend, because was under maintenance! Because of the trouble, the only things I was able to do while in the posada was sleeping and bathing! The room... More

We initially planed to stay in Posada Shalimar only for two nights. But we ended up staying for a week. The pousada is a lovely oasis with an arabic touch and decorated with local art. The rooms are setteled around a clean and refreshing pool. They are a little small but very clean and with aircon. There is a beautiful... More

The good: Room was clean, relatively inexpensive, had AC, TV, and clean bathroom area. It wasn't luxury, but the price was excellent & I have no complaints about the room itself. Pool area: nice for a dip to cool off and the surrounding architecture is quite beautiful. However, there were no chairs or hammocks to sit in near the pool... More

We stayed at Posada Shalimar for just one night on our way across the Caribbean Coast of Venezuela. It was a lovely little place - nice rooms (with good showers in the en-suite bathrooms), clean throughout, hammocks and a pool to relax in. Would get 5 stars if the bar (which looked really nice!) had been open and serving drinks.
