This review is long overdue as my brother, two friends, and myself stayed one night back in April, 2014. We wanted to have one night of a more quiet experience and thats exactly what we got. The owners of this place were extremely accommodating and VERY nice. The views are incredible and the place is very natural feeling. I would... More

This place is for someone who wants be in contact with the natural environment. Yes, you need a car to arrive there and it will be so pleasing and gratifying. I felt myself amazed! The place has a wonderfull and relaxed atmosphere. So beautiful room! They dont serve food however they have a tasty and tipical breakfast. There is a... More

We were greated with a glass of wine and made to feel completely at home. My husband and I were the second guests after the hotel came into new management. The hosts, Lisa, Miles and Ray were lovely and went the extra mile to make our trip special. We stayed in a room on the second floor which had a... More

you absolutely need a car, you need to bring your own food, and it is a hostel not a hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Also note that we are not high maintenance or fussy people. We book this hotel as part of our honeymoon over Christmas break. I'll break it into areas: Check in: Upon arrival, the cleaning... More

Where do I start? This was hands-down the worst hotel/motel experience we've ever had! The pictures of the hotel really draw you in but that is where the fun stops. The 'hotel' seems to be someone's home that is being billed as a boutique hotel (5 rooms total) and one night was more than enough. Firstly, when we arrived there... More

If you want to get an overview of where you are, see Toucans in an adjacent tree, be close to Carara National Park and Lapas Skywalk, this is the place to stay in Tarcoles. Sited on a bluff overlooking the forest and the sea, this is a unique option to take in this little not yet overdeveloped piece of Costa... More

Overall, a pleasant stay! It's not for the faint of heart due to the bugs and definitely not even close to any standard set by a western style hotel. One thing to to take away from this review is to set your expectations extremely low for this place and hope to be pleasantly surprised. We had a blast… but it... More

The Hotel Manga Rosa is a lovely, small hotel situated close to the entrance of Carara National Park on a hillside high above the Pacific Ocean. Our room (an upstairs double with balcony) had magnificent views over the jungle to the sea. At night the sunsets were magnificent. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel’s public areas. The décor of the... I was surprised to find such a nice building in the middle of the mountain, not to mention the marvelous view and rooms. Staff was ok, although a bit noisy in the morning. Complimentary breakfast was very well presented and with very good flavor. Our room was very big and the roofless shower is a very nice touch, be ready... More
