We stayed here as part of a trip organised by Assam Bengal Navigation, part of which was a river boat trip. We had two nights here. As others describe: the rooms are houses on stilts. The setting is tranquil and rural. Yes it is a 20 minute jeep drive to the main Kaziranga Park entrance, but only two minutes to... More

We stayed one night and were delighted. The bungalows are magnificent. The food and the dining room building are excellent. The manager is a delightful gentleman (with great taste in music) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. The only thing to remember is that the park is around a 30 minute jeep drive away, despite the hot... More

We have just returned from a three night break at DRL which was tagged on to a 7 night cruise on the Brahmaputra river. The lodge was extremely good and I would definitely recommend it as the place to stay if you are interested in visiting the National park. Our room was absolutely excellent with a view over a small... More

The service levels of a place stands out not in how well/courteously the staff do what is in the job description--as the Taj Hotels show time and again, it is in the small things they do that is over and above their call of duty. My experience at Diphlu River Lodge will remain in my mind for the dozens of... More

We stopped here for one night merely to break our 10 hour journey from Kohima in Nagaland to Guwahati. If only we had know what a gem this place is we would have stayed for longer. It is in a very peaceful location on the outskirts of the park, with a stunning riverside view. Our wooden lodge on stilts was... More

If I had to sum up the experience in one word, then that word would be "elegance". It was our honeymoon destination, and what a destination it was ! Here are some salient observations: Location: Located at the outskirts of the Kaziranga national park at a distance such that various entry points of the park can be accessed within 20-30... More

My husband arranged our Indian honeymoon as a surprise for me Diphlu and Kaziranga were the highlight. Magical sunrise elephant safari, excellent guides who immediately understood how obsessed with wildlife and nature we are and took it nice and slow whilst all the other vehicles raced past the bird life. Perfect comfort and peace at the lodge were wonderful staff... More

DRL (Diphlu River Lodge) is a luxury lodge on the banks of the Diphlu river and a stone’s throw from the entry in to Khaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. Included in the tariff is two trips per day in to the Reserve and DRL makes all the arrangements including bookings, permits etc. DRL is a Luxury Lodge – nice... More

Stayed at this lodge for 3 nights over Christmas. Obviously not celebrated in Assam but we did have a plastic Christmas tree in our table in the restaurant! The rooms are spacious as is the bathroom with a large walk in shower. As it was winter time with cold nights the hot water bottle and heater in the room were... More

This is an outstanding gem of a resort in Kaziranga. The location is superb, by the banks of the Diphlu river and well located with respect to the 3 zones of the sanctuary. The resort has a very natural feel to it with tastefully done up individual cottages, with all the amenities that you would require (except a TV which... More
