This is a well-situated hotel where we can leave the car and not have to move it again before leaving, as the local transport is so good. The room was large enough for two and the bed was large and comfy; a kettle and tea/coffe supplies made it welcoming. We enjoyed the copious buffet breakfast even tho' the kitchen staff... more

I am not sure what it is, but HI expresses in Scotland are pretty poor. I normally stay at HI express because it is dependable and reasonably priced, but in Scotland, they seem to have a different management. This one was not very clean, breakfast was cold, and the place just seemed in general to be poorly maintained. The location... more

This hotel is opposite the shopping/restaurant complex known as Ocean Terminal and also to the royal yacht Brittania. Although not in the city centre, the hotel is on the no 22 bus route to Princes Street and buses run every 10 minutes. It's also on the route to the airport , but the direct bus no 35 goes all round... more

Checked Trip Advisor before booking and booked on the basis of the reviews. Plus points: Friendly Staff Easy access to Ocean Terminal and Royal Yacht Britannia. Negative points: Small bedrooms. Bathrooms a joke. Shower with curtain. Reminded me of school dorms. Very uncomfortable rock hard beds. Buffet Breakfast comprised of grapefruit and orange segments, fruit juice, stale bread and rolls,... more

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now when visiting Edinburgh, and book directly on their website, as often you can get a room much cheaper than the stated price. Our last visit was a couple of weeks ago, and on arriving we were allocated a room facing the rear of the hotel which was freezing cold. There... more

This is a good quality budget hotel that can accommodate a family of four. It has free parking; if it’s full then you can also park for free at the Ocean terminal. There is an all you can eat self service buffet breakfast available in the morning ranging from toast, cereal, and croissants. The breakfast is a huge plus for... more

We stayed here for 2 nights over last weekend. The hotel is fantastic. The rooms are a good size and very clean and fresh. The bed was huge and really comfy. We asked at reception for feather pillows and they were delivered to the room within 10 mins, even though it was after 11pm on Saturday night! The bathroom was... more
