I stayed in the student facility for two weeks while completing my grad dip in melbourne. It was horrible. I spent some time at this hotel with my mum who stayed the night here. They are redo-ing the whole hotel from what it seems. I had stayed in the Rydges on Bell some years before and I said then "never again" ..however, I was then told about the recent upgrade and the new "Bell City" section so I decided to try it out. stayin in the rooms felt like i was in a jail cell except prisoners have more room, feet hung off the end of the bed. cleanliness was appauling. sought accomodation elsewhere after 1 night and found the Bell Motor Inn. 10 timees better they had helpful staff great value for money and best of all no students running around. more

The Rydges on Bell has re-invented itself as 'luxury student accomodation' (Le Student 8) and offers very competitive rates for stays of 2 weeks and longer.
