I stayed here for two nights and the weather was awesome. The property is beautifully landscaped and full of natural colors. No noise, no pollution and a perfect weather made the stay worthwhile. However, what spoilt our mood was the service and the catering staff and the indifferent attitude of the manager towards these shortcomings. It was as if he... More

Good points first: 1) Quiet and beautiful property 2) Helpful staff Average points: 1) No TV in rooms 2) Not much choice in the food department While the resort is beautiful indeed, the beautiful surroundings etc are on offer at most of the resorts in Munnar. They should try to add some more services to the resort. I would recommend... More

My wife and I spent 2 nights here for some peace and quiet after the bustle of Tamil Nadu. All staff without exception were friendly welcoming and made us feel valued. Beautifully located, with a range of accommodations ( we had a garden room that was the basic offering, but very adequate for us) to suit all tastes and wallets.... More

I stayed in the Windermere Estate two days. Is a beautiful place to retreat to. My cottage was huge and the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. The food was lovely and very interesting to watch the fog come down at nights, thick like smoke. The surroundings are very special: the tea plantations beautiful. The drive up to Munnar can be a... As one of the owners of Windermere said to us, nature really does the bulk of the work here. The views are stunning and the trees around alive with birds and insects. Maybe I appreciated it more because I live in Delhi where the air is so awful, but it really is a place you want to drink in. The... More

This is a low-key, simple retreat. (Our accommodation - more hostel than luxury hotel -reminded me of school journeys; with no turn down service it has a feeling of 'rustic charm'). But in retrospect, I regret not having considered a homestay in this area. Our large guest room was in one of the chalet style blocks, on the top floor... More

The Windermere Estate is serene and calm with a glimpse of a simple life from India of Old. Nestled in a cardamom and coffee plantation it is a family owned place that is surrounded by natural beauty. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and finished with a dark wood. A true gem when visiting Munnar! Our only disappointment was that we... More

First of all let me tell you that the pictures do not do this place or property justice. This place is everything you want and more. The guided hikes were wonderful, the food, beverages, and gorgeous views made this place absolutely worth every cent. The staff is fantastic, the grounds are beyond beautiful. This place won't disappoint!

We spent only one night at the Windermere estate. It is high in the mountains in the middle of nowhere. We had two rooms next to each other which were basic but had everything you need. The service was very friendly and helpful. First we had afternoon tea with some sandwiches which tasted very good. Nothing from out of the... More
