We had high expectations of Gallipoli Houses having read the reviews and were not disappointed. It took a while for us to decide our travel dates but Eric patiently and promptly responded to each enquiry. Once the booking was confirmed Eric provided lots of information such as the recommended route for the drive from Istanbul and we pre-arranged an evening... More

What can I say that others have not already said. It is a tranquil beautiful place to stay. Rooms are extremely clean but basic, with no tv which is a nice change. I stayed in a room inside the main house which was very quiet. Meals are home cooked and delicious.

And I'm an American (and former resident of Canberra). I have studied Gallipoli on and off for several years but wanted to see the terrain. Luckily the guy who used to set up all the Dawn Services for the Australian Government and lived in Istanbul recommended this hotel to me. I contacted Eric and he was extremely helpful in advance... My wife and I recently stayed at the Gallipoli Houses for three nights and it was wonderful. I have read a lot of the reviews here and I cannot understand what the negative reviews are on about. Seriously, there must be a hidden agenda with some as in our opinion, the place is wonderful. The breakfasts are great with all... More

We stayed in The Gallipoli Houses as part of a 4-day self organized tour through the Northern Aegean Coastline of Turkey. Upon arrival the owners (Eric, Belgian and his wife Ozlem, Turkish) let us choose between different rooms for us to decide which ones would be the most suitable. The rooms are spacious, offer all modern day comfort, including tea/coffee... More

Tucked away within a short driving distance of major sites, a magically peaceful spot to reflect on the desperate events of 1915 in this beautiful and now peaceful area. A single minaret, a simple, red roofed village, small fields and slope of Gun Ridge in the distance; it is the best of rural Turkey. The owner is Belgian, his wife... More

After a hectic and emotional day touring the battlefields of the Gallipoli pennisular it was a Lovely quiet haven. Small rustic and beautiful. The rooms are lovely and clean and quiet. We had a great nights sleep and the communal dinner the night before was great fun. We watched the sunset while enjoying a glass of wine on our own... More

This was our fourth stay at Gallipoli Houses and we will be returning. Excellent quality of food accommodation and friendly service as usual.. The location is stunning and perfectly positioned for exploring the battlefields and memorials. Having drinks on the terrace and watching the sun go down over Gun Ridge is a memorable experience. The owners are very approachable and... More

We are spending the third and sadly our last night here. Gallipoli Houses is boutique accommodation with 10 rooms, which are tastefully appointed. The owners are very ready to help with local information and have easily accommodated my wife's gluten free diet. The houses are set in a small, quiet rural village. Chickens cats, dogs roam freely around the well... More

It seems like a waste a time, especially if you're going from Istanbul down to Bergama and beyond, but this was a gem. After some days in Istanbul, it's like an oasis. The owners are friendly, and will advise you on what to do if you're not sure. They'll even set you up with beach gear so that you can... More
