"Issyk-kul Aurora" hotel is famous due to wonderful park. There are many beautiful trees and flowers. Also, there is a long sandy beach. The main building was constructed 40 years ago and has Soviet style of architecture. It wasn't renovated still... Food in main restaurant also soviet style. There is Spa center with mineral water bathes.

I stayed 5 days at the Aurora In June. The hotel is spartan and the food was basic, but healthy. The lack of coffee was my main complain, but I bought a jar, and requested a kettle from room service. On the last night, we had pizza at the restaurant on the beach. I found overall this hotel a journey... More

Recently stayed at this hotel aka a sanatorium. The place was dreadful. Terrible service, almost non-existent food, no one at the desk, miserable wi-fi, out of date and dirty bathrooms, and very small rooms. There are dark hallways with women attendants in the shadows. There was a gurney near an elevator, the likes of which haven't been seen for 50... More

We stayed at this place after a week in brand new Raduga resort just about 50 miles away. I must tell you that despite almost no difference in prices, this place was nowhere near. The building is old and poorly maintained, staff were mostyl rood and extremely unprofessional (to say the least), meals were of a poor quality with little... More

The Hotel Aurora Issyk-Kul (Translated:- White Steamer), as the hotel is in the shape of a ship. This is a great hotel with its own beach. As far as the Russians are concerned, this is a luxury hotel. The Russians call it a "Sanatorium" and it has a built in hospital. Arrangement: the All-the-year-round sanatorium is located at northern coast... More

If you have traveled widely in countries that were formerly part of the Soviet Union then this will all be familiar to you. It is very run down but I was happy there - it has character. The rooms are basic - tired and tatty but (almost) everything worked. If you are expecting or require western standards - then why... More

Kyrgyzstan is a nice country and especially Lake Issyk-Kul is amazing, but the hotel features very low quality rooms and disgusting food. Great location, beautiful lake, nice view of the Tien Shan mountains opposite the lake and "Tuscany view" on the other side. Close to the hotel are a view good villages / cities, like Cholpon-ata with its market. Many... More

The Aurora is supposed to be one of those health sanitorium-type places that you go to take various medical treatments. There were a number of different ones, both savory (massages) and unsavory (not going there!), but I didn't do them and can't speak for them. It's very - well... basic. If you are used to western-style hotels you will need... More
