Not recommended. The rooms were dark and dinghy, there was no hot or even warm water, and there was no A/C. The staff did not mention that we had to leave our keys in order to get maid service, and there were ants all over the place in our room. Weak WiFi, and only available in the reception office. No... This hotel had a great location, only a minute walk from the small centre of samaná. The owner, Guillermo, was Spanish so he was great for asking about tourist tips since he had only moved there four years ago. He was super helpful giving us great suggestions for what to do there. The rooms were okay, it was what you... More

Well, anyone checking in here should realize this is a hostel with all the basics you need and not a 5star resort with tons of extras. So don't expect much. I was very pleased with my stay as I had everything I needed. A place to sleep and a bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever i had... More

it is a truly backpacker hotel, with just what you need. But their asset is their attention to you, orientation, guides, support, advises and tours. They will for real make sure you enjoy your time in Samana.

We didn't realize how disappointing our stay was until the 4th day, when things just got too annoying to overlook. This is a fine location for a short stay only. Don't make it your main stay. Luckily, Samana was a wonderful town and made up for the bad hostel experience in full. PROS: Location is great--walk to the beach, restaurants,... More

Stayed there one night prior to going out on a whale tour. I called and booked two rooms with air conditioning for my wife and I and another couple. When we arrived and checked in we were given two thread bare towels, the remote for the air conditioner and the TV. The remote for the AC did not work and... More

I arrived at this hotel after recomandations from some expats at the local gringos bar. I loved my stay here, it had everything i needed. Aircondition that worked, english speaking owners who was very very helpful with answering questions, giving tips for places to go, where to eat and so on. It was very quiet when i was there, and... My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our one year anniversary at this gem in the beautiful town of Samana. For simple accommodations where the scenery was the main decoration, this can't be beat. The proprietors are fluent in English, a huge plus for us, and were indispensible in helping us plan all the tours we wanted to... More

We turned up absolutely soaked through to the skin after having driven on a motor bike from Las Galeras. We unfortunately caught the tail end of a tropical storm and were closer to Samana than home so we continued with our journey. When we arrived, we were provided with a good clean room and, best of all, hot showers! (Something... More

There are a few good things about this hotel: it's very close to the whale watching and bus stop, it's relatively clean, and the tv/air-con worked. The not-so-good aspects were: no screens in the windows (although there were no mosquitoes when I was there in Jan), very noisy area and hotel (bathroom opens into hallway at the top, so there...
