This hotel was badly damaged by Typhoon Yolanda but now it has been completely refurbished. Everything is new. The cafe is not even ready yet but the included breakfast is served just next door at Tops restaurant. The location is great and easy to find. There is a great local place to eat across the street. I stayed 2 nights... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel in downtown Tacloban. I didn't expect too much especially after typhoon Yolanda and I found this hotel pleasant to the senses. The facade was nice and modern and upon entering the lobby we were greeted by courteous staff. Going up the wide stairs and walking towards our room, I noticed that the narrow... More

We had a team of 32 people coming over as volunteers to serve Tacloban. We were blown away by how great the rooms were. Great decor, bathrooms as well as great service! Everyday we would be out doing voluntary work and we would return to clean rooms as well as fresh towels all placed properly in the rooms. Heated water... More

when all other hotels were filled up during Yolanda's anniversary tacloban plaza lay waiting. It was a very pleasant stay. The rooms were great. Finest amenities. The best of it all it was not pricey. A minor setback is the ongoing repair on the reception and the second floor.

As it was affected by Yolanda conditions aren't what they were. But in the face of everything they've come through Rooms are clean water is hot. View is awesome Quiet sleep. Good staff that are courteous. Meals are small but inexpensive. Wifi only in the lobby however. Staff is helpful in arranging transport.

This hotel is my go-to whenever I find myself looking for an overnight place in Tacloban. It's at the heart of downtown so it's very accessible. The hotel is very old. It smells old and mildewy almost all the time, especially in the carpeted rooms (Tip #1: Choose a non-carpeted room). Not all rooms boast a hot shower, some have... More

Tacloban Plaza needs totally reinvent itself if it wants to keep their guests and attract new ones. It needs to invest in their security features and update their system. The hotel's renovation is still ongoing, and Im looking forward to a better Tacloban Plaza hotel on my next visit.

The hotel is one of the pioneering landmark hotels in the city. Established in 1977, the hotel looks old but with recent renovations and repainting to the rooms, the place looked quite nice. Located within the heart of the city, one can walk around Tacloban City and not get lost. With the recent upgrade to its restaurant and having internet... More

I won't recommend this hotel. It's really dirty! Cobwebs on the walls, Cockroach under your bed, dirty, peeling wall paper, toilet doesn't have shower (you have to use a dirty pail). I was not able to sleep well due to the noisy vehicles outside. I suggest they renovate their rooms, especially on the 3rd floor (308)
