Friendly and helpfully People. Good kitchen, good wine. Service in the Restaurant is not 4 Stars Standard. They try to do their best, but it dosen't work often. All in all ok but not really recommendable.

Nice, old fashioned feel to the place after a 45 minute climb by bus up hairpin roads and spectacular views all the way. Spotlessly clean, featherbedding, and lovely bathroom. Only downside no drinks/coffee machine in the room. Breakfast huge choice - great service and the best boiled eggs ever! - Orange yolks! Situation accessible to 3 countries -Germany (Bavaria), Switzerland... More

I've stayed at this hotel on two occasions during 2014. Both occasions were in a working capacity, as a tour manager with guests. The hotel is a classic Austrian design, very clean and well maintained. All areas of the hotel are well appointed, the hotel manages to achieve the rare combination of being smart like a new building whilst also... More

We stayed here with a Leger tour typical Austrian hotel the staff were very friendly we had a large bedroom with a big balcony very big shower all we needed, clean too. The food was adequate chose what you would like at breakfast for dinner that night, the only downside was the hotel was a long way from the main... More

We booked this hotel last June after finding the area very popular. Our party was made up of 2 families with older children - 15, 18 & 17, 21. We booked 4 rooms and seperate beds for the children - both sets are brother & sister. This was ignored and all rooms had double beds. Not ideal! The rooms were... More

This is a great little hotel in true Austrian style, after a journey along terrifying hairpin bends, arriving in the middle of nowhere. But worth the effort. The hotel is perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable, and the welcome was wonderful. The rooms were not exactly luxurious but had everything we needed (except a kettle, and there was no minibar. Probably... More

A pleasant hotel but not the best. Main dinning room had a pleasant ambience, but the additional seating area was a bit like a canteen with a less than cosy atmosphere. Supposedly English speaking but only one waitress spoke some English...she really made an effort. Food ranged from disappointing to excellent. Two nights in succession the soup and gravey tasted... Some changes in service and better coordination would bring them one grade higher. There is a big difference between people in service.

We spent three nights there. İt is a traditional Austrian Hotel with nice food and amazing alpine view. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a corner room with plasma TV. There was also free Wi-fi. Madlener is a family run hotel. This feels more like a home than a hotel. The stuff was very friendly.
