This is simply a superb place to go for either a friendly drink or a delicious meal . The food is first class and never been disappointed. The staff are great friendly and helpful and make everyone feel welcome. The garden at the rear is perfect on a summers day for families and in winter there is always a roaring... More

Having stayed in Bradwell village for the week in a holiday cottage,we ate at this pub twice. We was made very welcome along with our Springer Spaniel, and can highly recommend the food, especially the Sunday Carvery which is amongst the best we've had! We live 100 miles away, but will definitely return.

We stayed just for one night and were in room 4. Initially we thought the room was great as it was a good size, had a 4 poster bed and tea making facilities (always a bonus!) Shower was powerful too. Unfortunately the whole room had a funny smell (damp?) that overpowered after a while. Main problem was that we could... More

Stopped in this quintessential old English pub for a family reunion. The rooms are in a converted barn attached to the pub. Even though there was deep snow outside the room was warm and comfortable. The owners and staff made us welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The food in the pub is excellent I recommend the Desperate Dan... More

We went to 'ye old bowling green' twice on our recent weeks holiday in the area. I am therefore only commenting on the food experience. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children, 1 of which is a very fussy eater. The children's meals were good value at £4.95 which was a good sized main meal and ice... More

This was our 4th visit to the bowling green during the year having camped locally and we were there for the full New Year break staying in a local cottage. The owners and staff here are some of the best you will come across. The landlord especially friendly and welcoming. We got chatting on several nights to different locals and... More

We stayed here on New Year's Eve 2014 - it was a late booking not greatly researched, so we didn't know what to expect.... wow where to start! We were shown to our room which is a barn conversion adjacent to the pub, On a very cold night, it was warm, spacious and very clean (room 4). We wanted to... More

We stayed over here for one night after a trip to Blackpool. We were made very welcome immediately upon arrival. Shown to our en-suite rooms which are adjacent to the pub. Booked a table for an evening meal in the bar. After a freshen-up we popped back into the pub where our table was ready and waiting. After a great... More

We visited for 1 night and there were parts that were good, the accommodation was ok for the price paid of £65.00 per night b&b. The room was clean, warm and comfortable but there were things which could have been better, the blue paint on the bathroom ceiling in the middle of cream could have done with a repaint, the...
