Yet another example of places where opening hours means they want to get out the door as quickly as possible at closing time and can afford to close the kitchen before closing time and lose money. Arrived with 20 minutes before closing and they couldn't even do a sandwich. New Years day and plenty of people around. I know they... More

We recently had lunch in this quaint little cafe, the food is wonderful everything is made to order and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The log fire was very welcome especially on the rainy day we visited. The owner was very friendly and will definitely visit again.

We stayed here for one night on our way home after we picked up a new bike in Liverpool. The room was very comfortable and newly refurbished. Beautiful bathroom with large walk in shower. Breakfast was good and service was good. To be recommended.

The vegetarian breakfast was very poor. Just mushrooms, beans, (almost) raw tomatoes and scrambled egg. Where is the choice of egg, the vege sausage and the hash browns? For £5.10, a little extra is to be expected. However, the friendly staff were kind enough to replace my mushrooms with some extra egg and a slice of toast for no extra... More

A friend and I stopped here for a pre mountain bike breakfast roll. We ordered two sausage, egg and bacon baps (barm cakes etc) a coffee and soft drink. £13! I thought this was expensive for the quality of the food. It was a real shame to see that the eggs, sausage and bread cakes were mass produced, cheap low... More

Our first trip into the cafe was for lunch. I ordered a pepperoni, tomato and cheese panini which was served with a salad. This was really nice, tasty and filling. My husband however ordered a ham sandwich which arrived dry and tasteless. We waited an age to be served and the gentleman serving us looked like he'd rather be anywhere... More

We stayed a night at this pleasant, character B&B in Hope and would repeat the experience any time. The room was well appointed and comfortable with access to a communal lounge downstairs that encouraged conversation among the guests. The owner was very accommodating and pleasant with a wealth of knowledge of the area. We couldn't fault the accommodation. Would recommend... More

New owner at last , really welcoming and so much better. Great food and a smile plus they love cyclists and walkers. Glad I went back after boycotting it as the worst cafe around locally but now it's good.

Stayed a couple of nights combining a course I was attending locally with the chance to fit in a few cheeky mountain bike rides in the afternoons. For the price of a 'Premier Inn box' I got a beautifully presented family room with a beautiful view over meadows to the hills. Despite the prospect of me returning to her immaculately... More

Not good. Uninterested staff who might have been the owner. We only came in for tea and cake and were made to feel that we were taking up too much room and spending too little money. Mate came in and had a sausgae and tomato barm, but refused to have it when it came made with tinned tomatoes! The bread... More
