We only stayed here one night but it couldn't have been better. A very warm greeting with a homemade cupcake, lots of useful information, a lovely clean room, a tasty breakfast with lots of options and overall, every box ticked! We will definitely be recommending to others as well as hopefully returning ourselves.

A beautiful home hosted by a lovely couple. Thank you for a pleasant stay in the Peak District. Our room (1) was spacious, and decorated lovely, the en suite had a “loo with a view” overlooking the fields. The bed was comfortable with a cosy down duvet. Shower powerful and hot. Please note there is free WiFi but no television... More

Just had a Saturday night stay at Thorndene and happy to recommend it to anyone. We received a cheery welcome with tea and a delicious homemade carrot cake. We had the smallest room which was pleasant and comfortable and fine for a night or two. It did have the advantage of a lovely spacious en suite. Breakfast was excellent, lots... More

5 of us went on a walking weekend in the Peak District a few weeks ago and stayed at this B+B. Friendly, attentive but laid-back service, big + clean rooms, great breakfast, good value - all good! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're going to the Hope Valley for a walking weekend in the Peak District. We used all... More

My husband and I have recently returned from a two night stay at this lovely B and B. We received a warm welcome from John the owner, who made sure we had everything we needed. The room (3) was a good size, very clean, comfortable and well decorated. The cooked breakfast was excellent, served in the residents dining lounge. There... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the smallest of the three rooms and it was lovely. Crisp white sheets, comfortable bed and a spacious en-suite bathroom. Everything was spotless and felt luxurious. Breakfast was also great and the cakes left out for guests in the afternoon were an additional bonus! There's secure bike storage in the garage with plenty of... More

We spent five days at Thorndean and would thoroughly recommend it for anyone who enjoys peace and beautiful countryside. John is a friendly host who is a wealth of local knowledge and has a brilliant breakfast menu which includes full English, kippers and a choice of eggs. Another nice touch is the homemade cake with your coffee or tea after... More
