I had feta and cranberry starter and mushroom and asparagus lasagne. When the starter came, there wasn't any cranberry there but a few dollops of apple sauce. The lasagne contained what might have once resembled vegetables but the tired soggy grey items which I witnessed were a poor impression of a vegetable. There was mountains of a thick cheese type... I am sorry to hear that your experience was not an enjoyable one however, as I always do, I did return to your table on 2 occasions and none of these issues were raised at the time! Had they been, I am more than confident that we would have been able to rectify these for you. More

We left it a little late to book a weekend away for August bank holiday but were really surprised to find we could get in at the Poachers Arms at Hope. We arrived to a friendly and helpful couple who having just taken over the pub seemed to want to do everything they could for you, we were shown to... More

We only stayed for one Saturday night and really had a good stay. B&B price was £90 which is the going rate in Hope Valley although other places tend to do minimum 2 night stays over a weekend. The welcome was nice & friendly, room comfy & clean (1 of 4), toiletries provided and breakfast served in the conservatory @... More

We stumbled upon this pub when there was a diversion the usual way we drive to Castleton. Saw the fish and chips sign outside. On entry a friendly but very busy lady served us and took our order. They had run out of the chicken kiev but the chef made us 2 up fresh, and I had the fish and... More

We went to the poachers for dinner on our first night of our holiday and we can easily say it was the best food in the area by a mile!! The homemade chicken Kiev, game casserole and the steak were simply to die for. New owners, great service, fabulous.

Once again our stay at the Poachers Arms has been excellent. Food, accommodation and a great welcome as usual. A great place to rest after walking the hills. We will miss them now they are leaving. Good luck for the future.

We have popped into The Poachers on a couple of occasions whilst visiting the Hope Valley. The beer choice is quite varied and the food menu extensive. After a long day walking the ridges it's nice to find a comfortable haven which serves reasonably priced quality food. My 3 companions and I selected different dishes and we all cleared our... More

Stayed here over the Easter bank holiday. Room was beautiful. Lots of extra little touches. Spotlessly clean. Petra and Bryan are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Good homecooked food in the restaurant. Very central for exploring the Peak District.

Our family stopped here today for lunch, my partner's mother who cannot eat wheat was drawn by the Gluten Free Food Available board outside, We were made to feel very welcome, the barman pointed out that all gluten free meals were appropriately marked on the menu. Food was serviced in good time, I opted for the Beef Ale and Shropshire... More
