I love this campsite and have been coming for years. The owners are very friendly and the location is great. That said I've started using different sites in the area in the winter months due to the facilities. There really needs to be some investment in the hot water system to make it a viable destination in the colder months.... More

We have been coming here for a number of years now with our DofE groups. I would pick this campsite every time over the other Edale campsite that shall remain nameless! Yes, there are rules, but this is needed to deter and control some of the lesser behaved members of the public. Go on the other campsite and you'll see... More

We camped by the stream in the lower camp-site, you had to cross a little bridge to get into the field. It was gorgeous. There was a choice of fields though, that one just happened to be the cutest. There is a fantastic pub less than a minute away and the Penny Way starts just down the road so it... More

Beautiful location with ease of access to the Pennine Way to go along the plateau of Kinder Scout. Placed alongside a stream running through the multiple camp site areas, it makes for a tranquil retreat to fall asleep to. I didn't have high expectations for the facilities on site, however was surprised at how clean and hygienic they were. Although... More

I went here with my brother for a mountain biking trip. Neither of us had been to Edale before but we will be returning. The site was great. We chose the lower field which was riverside and you wake to the sound of the river and sheep...amazing! The showers were nice but make sure you go with a collection of... More

Visited August bank holiday weekend. The site is in a fantastic location for visiting the Dark Peak area. Out the front gate you are virtually straight onto the Pennine Trail, path to Grinds Brook and within walking distance of Mam Tor. There is a pub in both directions, both serving good food and a good selection of beers. The site... More

I have just returned from a night’s stay on this campsite, and I am pleased that I was there for only one night. On arrival at the campsite my friend’s husband went inside to inform them were there where he is informed that we had a maximum of 5 minutes to empty both vehicles and carry everything on to the... We've just come back from a lovely 4 nights away with our children and friends. EDALE is so beautiful I just loved the location. The scenary is stunning and any rambler would say the same. I'm just so disappointed with the campsite as we paid £27 a night for 2 adults and 2 children so we were expecting modern facilities... More

Recently had a cracking little camping trip at Fieldhead. The site is in a stunning location and nicely set out so you feel like you've got your own little space. However it's pretty expensive as they charged us per person including the kids and for the tent and car. Ended up costing 27:50 per night. For that I wouldn't expect... More
