We've just come back from a lovely 4 nights away with our children and friends. EDALE is so beautiful I just loved the location. The scenary is stunning and any rambler would say the same. I'm just so disappointed with the campsite as we paid £27 a night for 2 adults and 2 children so we were expecting modern facilities... More

Recently had a cracking little camping trip at Fieldhead. The site is in a stunning location and nicely set out so you feel like you've got your own little space. However it's pretty expensive as they charged us per person including the kids and for the tent and car. Ended up costing 27:50 per night. For that I wouldn't expect... More

Enough privacy but a lovely sense of community at this campsite. The scenery is beautiful and the babbling of the river tops off the idyllic setting. Look out for the bats at dusk! I also saw frogs, rabbits and birds during our two night stay at fieldhead. There was larger family areas and separate areas for smaller tents/back packers. The... More

Lovely, simple campsite in a great location for walks straight from your tent. There are a few different (small) fields so tents aren't all lumped in together in one larger area which I liked. We had a lovely spot by the stream. Toilet facilities were pleasantly clean and well stocked (always loo paper, plus soap) just make sure you bring... More

Absolutely lovely location, the area is such a scenic place. Beautiful place to pitch by the stream. Toilets and showers clean too! Wifi at the local pub about 2 mins walk away. Just make sure you bring your 20p for the shower. Lovely and helpful staff to add to a lovely experience.

Seventy five pounds for two nights (Friday and Saturday). Gents urinal overflowed and was not sorted. Kids were told off for going over the bridge to the next site. A long list of rules and regulations, including that visitors could only stay for a short time, and no fires were allowed. A campsite with no campfire!

spent the week here while we climbed and walked in the Peak District. Lovely little campsite next to the river. The staff were very friendly. The toilets could do with being a little more cleaner but that's being picky. Great for just pitching up and you can walk straight onto the Pennine way, only a few hundred meters away.

I visited here for the nights of 27 and 28 Feb 2015. The good: friendly staff. Location - five minutes walk to two pubs and a railway station. Easy access to Mam Tor etc. The bad: repairs were in progress. I can only comment on the male facilities. Only one of three showers worked. No instructions and cold water only... More

I have been staying at this campsite for many years, as it provides a fantastic location for walking, as well as the added bonus of being situated very close to the local pubs... When it comes down to choosing between this campsite and Coopers, up the road I would say it it pretty close. The differences being price and the... More

Stayed here for 1 night Sept 14 - average campsite . Has a small car park which they could manage better . It was apparantly full but could've easily taken another 3 or 4 cars so we had to park in Edale main car park where there is ample parking . This site could do with offering Wifi from the... More
