This place was a shambles. We stayed here for the weekend in early august. The men's wash room was a disgrace: there was no hand washing/drying facilities for the toilets. The urinals spilled onto the floor. Also, the showers blocked and flooded onto the floors. There was no cleaning carried out all weekend by the site administration. In short, this... More

First of all I don't understand some of the previous complaints regarding this campsite. IT'S A CAMPSITE NOT A HOTEL. It's facilities include a pot wash area and separate mens/womens toilets and showers. All are very clean and monitored daily although a little dated. The campsite itself is excellent, level grounded with 3 fields to choose from, 2 of which... More

This campsite is well situated in Edale and only a few minutes walk from major routes and walks, Edale train station and pubs and cafe's which is a bonus. You never get fussed over by the site owners which is great too. Sadly this campsite is not what it used to be and it's getting worse. We have stopped here... More

As a individual person who has camped around different campsites around the UK this was far down at the bottom with some others. Me and my 2 other friends went for 2 nights in the countryside and when we arrived we were greeted with a nice warm welcome off the lady at the desk got pitched up and everything was... More

Being a person who has camped on a number of occasions i know a good campsite when i stay on one and this certainly wasn't one of them. Despite recieving a warm and friendly welcome the overbearing rules soon led to me and my friends having to meander round Edale until the early hours to avoid giving the warden reason... More

Spent a few days here with my lad, pitched two small tents in close proximity for a few days hill walking using this as our base camp. Good facilities, on site parking which is extra to pay for, but at least it's secure. Nice pubs locally, and very easy access to kinder scout and other local walks. They do allow... More

Flattish pitches, good facilities, helpful staff Importantly the site is sheltered from the worst of the weather. Not too tense about details eg let me leave an empty tent up for a day There was onsite parking, but I understand this does not happen in high season??

Good points Within walking distance of the train station which you can get the train to Sheffield and Manchester. Lots of nice pubs and cafe's locally. Good for walking routes and cycling. Bad points No parking. You have to pay to park which is a 5 minute walk away. The site manager pounces on you as soon as you arrive... More

Both myself, my partner and dog were originally on our way to stay at Coopers Farm in Edale however, we popped into Fieldhead Campsite to have a look round as it was on the way past. It is a lovely sized site with just the right amount of people. I never had to queue to wash up or use the... More

I love this picturesque little campsite, great location for walks, the facilities are quite basic but are also adequate, The site is well maintained with friendly staff. In fact ideal for those used to 'proper' camping and those intending to explore the area rather than 'holiday' on the site. The showers are coin operated and though dated work well and... More
