We arrived on our tour bus following a horrific day driving through a monsoon. Everyone was tired, wet and anxious. The staff of the Hotel Del Rijo retrieved our soaking wet suitcases from the bowels of the bus and greeted us with Mojitos and smiles. The smiles were a nice touch, but the mojitos REALLY helped. The hotel does not... More

This was probably the best hotel we stayed in during our two weeks.... it wasn't the usual tourist concrete hotel, the service was friendly (not experienced much in cuba!) and the food was good. Nothing flashy, great colonial architecture and clean. The Location is great, on a quiet square on the edge of the main area of the town. Great... More

At more than 3 times the price over a casa particular, $80CUC ($110CAD), this is no bargain. The historical building itself is quite nice, though becoming a little run down since its restoration. It has a pleasant ground floor lobby and restaurant where an ornate stairway took us to our 2nd floor room #5. A twenty foot high ceiling in... More

I see why many people give this place a favorable review. The architecture is classic, and rooms pretty large. But we found the place understaffed and thus the service completely overwhelmed when the house was full. Many rooms overlook the noisy square (although it does quiet down late at night). Not quite as clean as we would have preferred, even... More

It was an fantastic hotel, so beautiful. the rooms were large and clean and very nicely decorated. The food was very tasty and the service very very well. We felt welcome and it felt like a warm bath. The environment, historic center of the city was very beautiful and more than worth it to walk around. We were here for... More

On a pretty square in this lesser-known of Cuban towns. Very attractive. Breakfast is adequate. The open-loggia arrangement of the restaurant leads to some flies. However, good value for price, and I love good historic preservation in hotels.

We were travelling through central and eastern Cuba from Havana and this was one of the places we stayed along the way. It was a really nice old hotel, very clean and I must mention the staff who were very friendly, chatty and helpful with everything. It also has a great location in the town. The food here was perfect... More

This was our last night in Cuba and what a great place to spend it. The room was fabulous quiet and large. The hotel is very well located close to all that there is to see. Very helpful and friendly staff. There was a brass band staying at the same time as us and they used the lobby for an... More
