After visiting the Yorke Arms over several years, this was our first midweek visit and our first tasting menu there. The food from start to finish was superb, so many delicate flavours, added touches, mouth watering dishes, with little surprises here and there. The tuna dish and the pork four ways were the highlights for us. Service, room and facilities... More

This was the first time we had visited The Yorke Arms. After travelling 1 hr 30 minutes to poor destination our first impressions were great. Staff were very friendly. The waiting area was very cosy and gave off a homely feeling. We were given our menus and thought we would go for a treat and let the chef choose our... More

We booked lunch here as a special treat for my daughter, who was visiting from US. It was certainly a treat. Our apertifs, which turned out to be quite expensive, were accompanied my handmade crisps and mini parmesan tarts. Delicious. We opted for the 3 course set menu priced at £45 as there was a reasonable choice and a Touraine... More

I reviewed The Yorke Arms as my first review on tripadvisor back in 2007 and after returning there on neumerous occasions I felt a update was in order. My update concludes that The Yorke Arms is as reliable as the Swiss railway network. It's so consistently good that I've never had a reason moan or grumble at anything there. I... More

First time here and we were not disappointed. The eight course tasting menu was varied and well presented. Staff were attentive without being overbearing. The room was on two floors and was excellent. (Maxwell would have been better than larking around with filter coffee!) The only downside was the cost of drinks. Very expensive. One doesn't expect Westherspoons, but frankly... More

We stayed here for a birthday treat for my partner this month. The rooms were excellent and the food was fantastic. The cost of the weekend was high but definitely worthwhile. We had the 5 course taster menu with wine and went disappointed. The food was excellent. The breakfast the next day was good too. We have visited lots of... More

We visited the Yorke Arms for a post Christmas break. The weather was poor. However, the excellent food, service and comfort made up for it. Our room, one of the new ones at the back of the hotel had a separate sitting room and was very comfortable. The hotel dried our wet walking gear. The food was superb. Frances Aitkens... More

Part of any trip is the arrival at your destination right? Well we had a dramatic arrival at Yorke Arms. Picking one of the worst storms in North Yorkshire history (it felt) to drive across the North Yorkshire Moors to arrive at the hotel in bleak weather indeed. The Yorke Arms was at that point a little oasis in bleak... More

Booked lunch here while on a short break in the area. Full of Old world charm we sat by a welcome fire and ordred drinks while we waited for our table. The whole meal was delicious from start to finish, each course bursting with flavour and beautifully prepared. A bright and shining moment in a very wet, grey gloomyJanuary .

Not having been to the Yorke Arms for over 30 years, recollections were hazy ro say the least but travelling towards this glorious location for an unassuming hotel where the welcome was as warm as the fire in the residents lounge. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and well appointed and the staff were so welcoming that nothing was too much... More
