We have stayed here many times going back 23 years and at least two owners. The Gouthwaite suite which we were booked into at our request has been refreshed since our last visit 4 years ago and is in our opinion the best (and only) room to stay in. It must cost a fortune to heat an old building with... More

We've eaten once before at the Yorke Arms for Dinner but not stayed, as we used to live in the area. Having moved to the North York Moors a few years ago, we were delighted when we received notification of the £300 Dinner, B&B mid week offer. We've been wanting to return for a long time. It's still an expensive... More

The Yorke Arms itself is an old beautifully restored and updated building and we were made to feel right at home as soon as we arrived. The Champagne & afternoon tea and cakes were a real delight and a sure sign of things to come. We were taken to room 14 (the loft) and we found the room to be... More

We went for the food and it was sensational. As fine a dinner as we have eaten in the UK or France for a long time. The truffled quail, the hare, the Yorkshire beef with foie gras - they were all perfectly cooked, professionally presented and served with a friendly smile. Delighted to see veal kidneys available as a savoury... More

The Yorke Arms describes itself carefully as a 'restaurant with rooms'. There is little doubt that the quality of Michelin-starred Francis Atkins' food was simply sensational. We stayed for two nights and ate off the main menu on night one and then had the tasting menu (an additional £30 per head) on top of the dinner, bed and breakfast rate... More

I recently visited the Yorke Arms as a birthday treat before driving home from a weekend in Yorkshire. We booked Sunday lunch in advance and it was absolutely delicious. The lounge space is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a drink before the meal, and the dining room is also very well decorated. The wine was delicious and, coming from London,... More

What can I say except that our dinner and stay here were just perfect. The hotel is very out-of-the-way and has a lovely relaxed an friendly atmosphere, however it is the meal which really stands out. A fantastic selection of choices and all cooked to beyond perfection by the chefs. We were lucky enough to have the owner Frances Atkins... More

We had Dinner on Saturday evening and were seated in a nicely decorated room, with several other couples, and an open fire. This was not a main dining room, but was pleasant and relaxed. Prior to this we had excellent canapés in the lounge, and the service to this point was very good. On being seated, the bread was excellent... More

The welcome was perfect, the food was stunning, the staff were capable of brilliant recommendations! I'd highly recommend the Yorke Arms, it manages to be so good, that the scenery feels like a bonus!

Had lunch today, absolutely fantastic. Forget the fact that it is perhaps a little more than one might normally budget for a midweek lunch, it is worth every penny. Wonderful food, fantastic amuse bouche, wonderful bread, delightful petit fours, and three incomparable courses. I would say that this is one of the best five meals I have had in my... More
