The place was great in the 80's. However thats probably the last time it was updated. Or cleaned for that matter. Mattresses smelled, carpets filthy, room dirty and damp. Gardens not maintained yet you pay 2014 prices to stay there. Would be better off camping ...

My husband and I stayed here and what an experience we had. This place isn't a resort, it's dirty, the room was falling apart, the back door didn't lock. However that wasn't the worst part at all. When we had dinner, we waited one and a half hours for our main. The poor ladies were running around trying to keep... More

My wife and I stayed here (well, attempted too) following the Avon Valley Food and Wine Festival. I will start with the positives: Friendly staff. Unfortunately that was pretty much the only positive to this hotel. Upon entry to the main lobby it was absolutely freezing! Wanting some warmth when we got to our it was not a very pleasant... More

I stayed here as part of a large group of mothers having a break from their role of 'caring for children with special needs'. yes the place is run down in areas and although some renovations have been done, there are a lot to go. I got to see inside 3 different rooms and all were different. some had new... More

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. This is a very old establishment, with lots of lovely history. It is nice that all the old original buildings are still here. Sure, it needs some work, but lots of places need work, and they don't do anything about it. You can tell that they are doing something about it.... More

Where do we start? Booked in for Valentines Dinner and overnight stay. The room was filthy dirty including toilet paper still in the lavatory. Spiders webs everywhere and the carpet was disgustingly filthy. The dinner was a disaster. The highly inexperienced staff plated up entrees etc., hours before the meals. The flies were having a field day. We waited nearly... More

My wife and I had a fantastic time here. I was concerned at the distance it is from home but there were no accommodation packages left. It was Only 50 minutes from Murdoch and at 2am there was no traffic!! The meal was wonderful, getting a drink was a problem but apparently 4 staff had called in sick and could... More

Where to start. We stayed here for two nights in November 2013 to attend a wedding held at a nearby location. Family who were also staying that weekend advised us not to eat at the restaurant as they suspected the food might have been reheated and not fresh. We were put up in the very last room of a long... Stayed here for NYE Dinner and show . Package deal including accomodation and breakfast was half the price of the overpriced accomodation in perth . The Fabfour and Elvis show was fantastic , the buffet dinner and breakfast were delicious and huge .the accomodation is a little dated but very clean and comfortable . We thank El Caballo for a... Stayed here over the tough mudder weekend in October. Had to be the worst hotel ever. There was what looked like a blood stain on the floor of my room, windows were smashed in the hallways. The staff in the restaurant were the rudest people I have ever met, I have never been sighed at before for asking for a... More
