The main reason people stay in this cramped and musky place is because supposedly (damn lonelyplanet) that Danier is the best person to arrange travel to the Pammir highway. Its true he is very knowledgeable about the area and is reliable, but his prices are relatively high and it is unnecessary to use his services. For example, he advertise transport... More

I asked the guesthouse about a taxi stand with cars going to Tajikistan and they told me that there wasn't one but that they could arrange a car for me. They offered a car for $70 USD which is nearly twice the usual amount, but they assured me that I couldn't find another car anywhere. I was a bit short... More

Staff speaks English and German and are helpful but not too well informed about much outside town. Not easy to find. Access roads have no lights! But look safe to me.4th floor with no elevator.... I 've described THIS PLACE . The staff WAS HELPFUL you had toTake off shoes ,no alcohol or pork products in guesthouse property. The rooms look like someone had an idea to build A HOTEL THEN DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING ELSE. The expectation should not be high. This place is just for sleeping, if you can in Sovietish beds. There is hot water. Price is cheap. Staff is very helpfull. Try to come to the guesthouse in day light since it is hard to find at nights. In short, it is very convenient for backpackers.

First the good things: Its a meeting point for travellers, the staff speaks english, and they can arrange shared taxis to anywhere at anytime. Now the bad thing: As any taxi service in the whole world, also Osh Guest house will try to make you pay more than necessary. Example: We (a couple) were looking for a shared taxi to... More

Beds were harsh and untidy when we got there. The main dorm is extremely crowded. You can say the same thing about common room. The toilets were used and unclean. There was no toilet paper available. The hostel didn't feel safe as well. If you have the possibility, try the other options...

We stayed here several nights around the first of September. The rooms are not clean and the manager takes advantage of customers to fill his pockets. We waited for an arranged car for about 2 hours then when we decided to just find our own way he told us the border closed in 20 minutes. We witnessed other customers being... More

While most people stay at a dormitory, at roughly $2 more you can get a whole apartment for an even such a small band of friends as ourselves, i.e., 4 people = 2 couples who really appreciated the privacy in for and out after high-mountain adventure. The staff are no-hassle and down-to-earth when it comes to business but all the... More
